Walmart's kitchen aisle starts cutting prices in late October, and nobody talks about it. I picked up half my kitchen upgrades before Halloween last year while everyone else waited in line on Thanksgiving.

The electronics section is where I first noticed the pattern. Certain TV models get quiet markdowns weeks ahead, then they slap a Black Friday sticker on the same price and call it a deal.

Nobody's thinking about vacuums in October, which is exactly why the prices drop then. I learned this after paying full price in December like a fool two years in a row.

Blankets, pillows, and bedding sets start getting marked down right when the weather turns cold. Funny timing, but I'm not complaining. Stocked up for two bedrooms last year for what one set costs in January.

Parents know the panic of shopping for toys in mid-December when everything popular is gone. I started buying in late October when prices quietly drop, and it changed my whole holiday stress level.

While everyone's focused on the big appliances, the little stuff gets marked down too. Baking sheets, knife sets, storage containers. Boring? Sure. But I saved over $60 across a dozen small items last year.

Toothbrushes, massagers, heating pads. Nobody glamorizes this stuff, but the pre-Black Friday discounts are real and your body will thank you when January hits.
