Two years ago I bought a waffle maker on Black Friday that collected dust for 14 months straight. Now I only grab kitchen stuff I already know I'll use weekly — here's what survived the cut.

Most Black Friday TVs are stripped-down models made specifically for the sale. Took me getting burned on a no-name 55-inch that died in eight months to learn which ones are actually the real deal.

Bought a doorbusted laptop once that could barely run two Chrome tabs. Now I check the actual specs before anything else — processor, RAM, storage. These are the ones where the discount is real and the hardware isn't garbage.

Nothing is worse than telling your kid they're getting something and then watching it vanish from every shelf in America. These are the ones I add to cart at midnight — hesitation costs you here.

Black Friday is when I replace every small appliance that's been slowly dying. The toaster that only browns one side, the iron that leaks — you know the ones. These prices make it painless.

Sheets and blankets are boring to buy but Black Friday pricing on good ones is genuinely the lowest all year. Replaced everything in my house over two Black Fridays and my bed finally feels like a hotel.

Didn't realize until year three that Walmart's clothing brands actually got decent. Black Friday pricing on basics means I restock socks, thermals, and loungewear all at once instead of paying full price in January when I actually need them.

Finding stocking stuffers that people actually want is surprisingly hard. Nobody needs another candy cane or random lip balm. These are small enough to fit in a stocking but good enough that people actually use them past December 26th.

Nobody talks about Black Friday cleaning deals but the prices on stuff you're going to buy anyway drop significantly. I do one massive haul every year and don't buy cleaning supplies again until spring.

December 23rd used to be my personal nightmare — running around stores grabbing random stuff for people I forgot. Now I grab these gift sets on Black Friday, stash them in a closet, and coast through the entire holiday season stress-free.
