Was running in heavy stability shoes for years because a store clerk told me I needed them. Switched to something lighter and suddenly my last mile didn't feel like dragging cement blocks.

Nothing kills a run faster than a soaking wet cotton shirt chafing your chest raw. Found these after one particularly brutal summer run left me with what looked like rug burn.

Phone bouncing in my waistband used to drive me insane. Spent an embarrassing amount of time holding my phone in my hand like a weirdo before finding shorts with actual functional pockets.

Hit mile six once and realized I was bleeding through my shirt from nipple chafe. That was the day I stopped pretending I didn't need anti-chafe products.

Used to skip water on anything under an hour and wondered why I bonked at mile seven. Turns out dehydration was the reason my last two miles always felt like death.

Running without data was like driving without a speedometer. Had no idea I was going out too fast on every single run until a watch showed me the ugly truth.

Ran a half marathon in regular cotton crew socks once. Once. Lost two toenails and couldn't walk right for a week. Never again.

Almost got clipped by a turning car at 5:30 AM because I was wearing all black like a running ninja. Started taking visibility seriously after that close call.

Used to just collapse on the couch after every run and wonder why I was always sore. Spending ten minutes on recovery changed how my legs felt the next morning.
