These are the guides that I have used, and intend to use, to strengthen my pen and write better stories.
I currently am using this guide by Philip Beaufoy Barry and it does a phenomenal job at breaking down the writing process into simple steps.
PS. It's in thr public domain, so you may find free versions about *wink* *wink*
How To Succeed As A Playwright by Barry
I'm not necessarily saying that you have to get these Canadian Plays, but I would say that as a playwright, you have to indulge in the theatrical productions of your country or province/state. See the different stories that have been written in your ...
Modern Canadian Plays Vol 1, 5th Ed - Wasserman
Now again, I'm not saying to get this play specifically (although I do highly suggest it as it's a phenomenal read), its really important to read plays outside of your own country as well. Not just Shakespeare, but consider the writers of NOH Japanes...

One thing about any form of written work is that it pays to have someone review and give their opinions on your work, simply to see where you can tweak things, but also if the themes that you wished to emphasize in your work are actually poignant eno...
I'm currently using this app to find any meet-up opportunity, like writing circles, to share and get some advice on writing.

Software
These include some of the software that I use whenever I am writing my play.
Notion is my bread and butter for plannng anything. It's also the place that I find a way to allow my creativity to shine by my reflections and working on my storytelling.
Notion
Obsidian is a software that I see so much tremendous value in, however I'm still navigating as it is a little difficult to use. The main feature that intrigues me is the brain. The web of theme that connect all your thoughts together!
Obsidian - Sharpen your thinking
I truly believe that you don't need to have the fancy software to write your scripts. A simple Google doc is great, and there are great extensions that can be used to structure your scripts better.
Google Docs
I'm trying out fade in, so I'm not well versed in the apps use, but it definitely has a lot of useful features to help progress your playwriting journey.

Stationary
These specific items listed items aren't necessarily a necessity for your all. A cheap notebook and pen from the dollar store are more than perfect to get this done. I'm just suggesting some things for ✨️the vibe✨️
I don't know what it is about muji pens, but I absolutely adore the flow of the ink to pad from these pens! They're a phenomenal addition to your pen collection.
Pens & Pencils | Japanese Stationery
Literally any and all types of notebooks are of great use when you're making a script. I use mine as a hub for drafting and compiling all my thoughts. After I've executed what I wanted on their, I plot them into the software I use and then into the s...

I love using highlighters when writing. I use it to add some variety to the page, but also to emphasize particular ideas and details to remember later.
Markers & Highlighters: Office Products
I know I'm not the only one who gets random ideas at night for the plot. I want to steer clear of opening my phone and typing my thoughts, so using a booklight would be great to get these ideas down without having to do too much (I sleep with my note...
