I prefer hardshell over cloth suitcases (the former are also easier to clean), stealthed and lockable telescoping handles, and 4 wheels over 2, thank you. I am not picky about the brand, although I was a fan of Heys in its heyday (sorry).
Having said that, you can't go wrong with American Tourister, Samsonite or SwissGear. I'm all for more oddball colors and/or designs – the brighter, the better. It's not because I like to stand out in a crowd – but my luggage should!
