Born and raised in Dallas, I can say that there are far more things to recommend than not!
Here, I’ve narrowed my extensive love list down to something more manageable.

Let’s Get Out | Into Nature
I love it here! It’s peaceful, awe-inspiring, and fun.
Fort Worth Botanic Garden
Between the Dallas Zoo and Fort Worth Zoo, this one wins hands down! It’s just a better experience! Don’t forget to feed the giraffe!
Fort Worth Zoo
I really enjoy any place where I can see sealife. I feel a strong connection to those creatures and love the peace they bring me. Definitely check it out!
The Dallas World Aquarium
I have visited the arboretum during their themed events. It’s always beautiful and a good time, for a good price. Warning: summer is a no!

Yummy Restaurant Go-Tos
I have been eating at this location for pretty much my entire life. Not only does El Fenix have the best chips in all of the land, the rest of the menu is also delicious! The wait staff is always incredibly polite, remember you, and keep the refills ...
EL FENIX, Dallas - 255 Casa Linda Plaza #3
This is the only Black-Eyed Pea left in North Texas, and it’s a gem! I love this restaurant and always visit when I am in the area.
Black-eyed Pea - American Restaurant - Arlington, Texas
I ate here for my birthday a year or so ago and it was amazing! Our waitress was the best, the food was scrumptious, and we got free dessert! No complaints!
Bob's Steak & Chop House
This hole in the wall joint has delicious burgers, made to order. While always busy, you never have to wait too long for your scrumptious food!
Porky’s Burgers & Wings
This place is always hopping, and for good reason! Their donuts are delicacies and should absolutely be savored. Enjoy!
Voodoo Doughnut
Experiences for everyone!
This is literally the only amusement park I’ve ever been to, and I still love it! I’ve been so many times I can’t recall, I always have fun, leave exhausted, and love going back. Fair warning: do not go in the summer!
Six Flags Over Texas
You can’t live in Dallas and not visit the fair at least once in your life! If you’re visiting, do so in October so you can enjoy this unique experience for yourself!
State Fair of Texas Administration Office
Oft called “Jerry World” (for Jerry Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys), this stadium is ridiculous… in a good way! I’ve been to a few concerts here and they’re always packed and amazing! Definitely recommend seeing anything at this stadium!

I would live in this book store if I could! It’s truly the best place to buy (and sell) used books. And they have everything!
Half Price Books
Like Half Price Books, this secondhand bookstore is a delightful find. There are so many nooks and crannies, and the store is like the Tardis - much bigger on the inside.
Lucky Dog Books
This is more than your average antique store! The unique items you’ll find in this store are truly worth the visit!
Curiosities Antiques
So many stalls, so little time! This place deserves a multi-day visit, if you truly wish to see everything there is to offer!
