When it comes to budget crochet hooks these are hands down my top choice. Not only are they affordable, they are also widely available.
These hooks are a bit more pricey then the Susan Bates hooks, but they are still fairly affordable.
Okay, these hooks are definitely a tad pricey, but they are so worth the cost. These hooks work like a dream.
Stitch markers are like bobby pins, they end up EVERYWHERE, and you can never have enough.
No explanation needed, you gotta weave in those ends.
Blankets, Wearables, & Misc
My choice of yarn when it comes to lightweight garments, and washcloths.
These GIANT cakes of yarn might seem excessive, but you only need two cakes to make a decent blanket.
Patterns I Love
The first garment I crocheted for myself, and I always get complements on it.

This one might take more then a few tries to get right if your a beginner.
If you want a toddler sized dino (like is the size of a toddler) use Bernat Blanket yarn to make your dino.
Worked this up a few time as gifts for a couple of friends.

Add in some thick foral or jewlery wire to the center and make your worm positionable.
Turns any of the mini knotted lovey patterns into a blanket, slightly more suitible for little hands.

All of the knotted lovey animals are amazing, but this is the first one I made.
This pattern works up quickly, and is super cute.
Another easy pattern with plenty of mods to change things up.
