Cameras

I’ve only tried two myself and my friends have a couple of different ones to me, here are a few of my favourites.

This is a point and shoot. I got this a few months after starting. In comparison to the Kodak on the list  I'd say this has a slightly more ‘traditional’ film look to it after developing. It also doesn't allow you to shoot if the light is too dim which prevents too many dud photos which is great when starting out!
Olympus PEN EE 35mm Vintage film camera

This is my go to, it doesn’t feel like the best quality because the body is plastic but that makes it so convenient to travel with. It’s light to carry and all auto so all you have to do is press a button. I have the green one and it's really pretty.
Kodak Ektar H35 Half Frame 35mm Film Reusable Sage Compact Camera – Retro Vibes

A great option, Canon is such a great brand and this point and shoot means no playing around with settings if you aren't yet sure what you're doing.
Canon Sure Shot AF35M 35mm Film Point and Shoot Camera

This is just an upgraded more sturdy body than the other sage green one. The plastic body suits my on the go use better but this could be better if you want something a little more hard waring.
Kodak Ektar H35 Silver Half-Frame 35mm Film Camera

This one is a manual one, so if you've already tried a point and shoot and want a bit more range in shooting environment and style this one is so good. A little more expensive but worth the investment.
Canon Canonet QL17 GIII Rangefinder Camera 40mm f/1.7 From JAPAN

Honourable mention for this one that looks stunning!

Kodak is my go to but there’s also some other films that give really cool results too. Sticking with your basic options is always easier to start but venturing and trying others can also get really cool results even if you don’t know exactly what you...

Kodak gold is a pretty big go to and for good reason it offers such pretty results and makes everything golden (hence the name) perfect for summer shots.
Kodak Gold 200 - Color print film - 135 (35 mm) - ISO 200 - 36 exposures

This one’s ISO is a little higher so is better for anything that’s slightly darker. It’s similar to the cold but has a little more of a blue tint to it.
Kodak GC/UltraMax 400 Color Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 36 Exposures)

This is on the pricier side but if you’re shooting portraits is definitely the way to go. If not sticking with the other option is probably best.
Kodak Professional Portra 800 Color Negative Film (35mm Film, 36 Exp.)

This gives you brighter results and does exactly what it says on the tin - make the colours pop
Kodak ColorPlus 200 Color Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 36 Exposures)

This one’s picks up contrast beautifully if you are after a good black and white film this is perfect.
