Truly the biggest gig lover, I've been to over 100 gigs and worked more that aren't counted. The live music scene is sometimes hard to find in cities that aren't London. I go to University in Birmingham, U.K and have been using the city as my go to g...

Gig Venues That Double As Clubs and Pubs
Sometimes venues that are deemed as nightclubs are actually even better for a live music gig and bring all the vibes.
Great for gigs, I've been to rock and metal shows here and the pits are always a lot of fun especially if the room is full. Even has a cute smoking area upstairs, outside.
XOYO Birmingham
Doubling as a pub, the weekend gigs here are so much fun! And a little bonus for the ladies loos that have such good lighting and very pretty mirrors for all your photos while you're out too.
The Victoria Birmingham
It may seem like you're heading into a basement for the gig but the vibes are always there. This ones in Digbeth just a little out the way of the centre (15 minute walk).
The Rainbow Pub
Good quiz nights, which is off topic but worth a mention. I'd highly recommend a punk/rock or metal show for this venue. Also if you're looking to have a few drinks the prices are a lot cheaper here than anywhere else!
The Flapper
A cosy upstairs venue is great and theres a photobooth which if your like me is an absolute huge bonus!
Dead Wax Digbeth
Two little venues, a really cool disco ball and the best mac n cheese hashbrowns too!
Hare and Hounds
Both a club but great live music venue too, a good dance floor for the gigs and an upstairs where you can watch the gig from the comfort of seats
Mama Roux's
More Solely Live Music Focused
Rarely acting as a club and just for live music heres a few gems.
One of my favourites, its a great capacity for up and coming bands, the bar plays great music in between sets and it feels really intimate too.
The Sunflower Lounge
As well as being a great rehearsal space for bands, its a great spot for up and coming talent too and has really pretty lighting
Muthers Studio
If you're looking for a couple of the slightly more well known bands that might stop through in Birmingham this is the place to go. A perfect standing area, and the balcony and a good view the whole way round. Also honourable mention to their access ...
O2 Institute Birmingham
For the bigger bands that are just before arena level this is the venue to go to, with smaller rooms too! The main room is great although the balcony view isnt the best.
O2 Academy Birmingham
This venue has such a good range of genres theres bound to be something for everyone!
The Night Owl
I have seen absolute gems in here, for the rock and metal lovers, this is the perfect venue. (I recommend catching a band called Trash Boat there next February 3rd, 2025)
The Asylum
A beautiful venue thats for more classical events with a such lovely orchestras.
Symphony Hall
As well as being great for comedy, this ones also great for intimate live music events too!
