I miss this part of home being a KC Native, getting to hang out at Swope Park as it's friggin huge! So much going on in the surrounding area driving either way on Swope Parkway.
Swope Park
Breathtaking views to take in while driving on the bridge, but even better are the Milepost trails and stop points to snap shots of the Grandfather and Blue Ridge Mountains
Linn Cove Viaduct
Amazing sightseeing spot that is just right for capturing pictures of the falls and local scenary. Visited when I was training to be a Network Engineer
Minnehaha Falls - Minnehaha Park
Although I walked the attraction alone, I felt the sense of romance about the atmosphere. The Bonsai Garden though being small, has a lot of Zen energy and is well taken care of. There are a range of small like exhibits that each stand out in their own way. The Succulents are a must see though as they are absolutely MASSIVE!
The Gardens at Lake Merritt
It's been noted for being the best spot for Breaks at Hilton Head Island….
I can affirm this as Archer's Cove seems to draw the Break Line towards Burkes and not Singleton Beach making for some nice sized Green Waves that come about pretty frequently feeling to be about 3 footers though noted at being 2 footers.
I was able to catch my first lines following some tips I found on Youtube in no time at Burkes after returning some years later having my first experience at Folly Field at age 15.
Burkes Beach
If you enjoy scenic views and roads that twist and turn, this one is for you! Driving back out from the Gatlinburg area Southbound is a treat as there is a Corkscrew portion of the Roadway that feels like a rollercoaster driving into the tunnel!
Devils Triangle
This quaint little historic site will always be etched in my memories from my Elementary School days in New Jersey. I got to experience it on a school field trip where it was nostalgic getting to see just how much the locals cherished the ties to the... It has also been inspiration for me to continue to sort out my Indigenous Roots as I felt a fond connection to certain features on-site like the Long House. The General Store is a treat, but It would seem that the Water Mill that was once attached to one of the buildings near the Gerneal Store which is seen in the photo set [if I'm not mistaken] finally saw it's last days between now and my trip there in...
Waterloo Village Historic Site
This area was quite a surprise to live in while I was a Field Technician.
The people are quite friendly, the roads are absolutely stunning to drive about getting to see the Mountains south of Johnson City and there is lots of great food to take in all over the place.
Things To Do In Northeast Tennessee Cities
Cozy hangout spot with lots of shopping, dining, and downtime entertainment.
I ventured alone to hit up some pool at the Dave & Busters while working a Network Engineer Project not knowing anyone in the area. I would enjoy getting to get another go at the area if I were ever back with company to take it in with.
The Waterfront
Tons of space and some of the better trails to get lost on for running
