First line of defense. Hang a couple at canopy height and a couple near the soil, then check them every few days. They catch fungus gnats, whiteflies and thrips so you know what you're dealing with before it gets bad.

How I confirm what I'm dealing with before I spray anything. Mites and thrips are tiny, so I check the undersides of leaves at 60x. The LED makes it easy to see in a dark tent.

My go-to for fungus gnats. The BTI in these kills the larvae in the soil, which is the part sticky traps can't reach. Sprinkle on top of the soil or soak some in your water before you feed.

Preventive spray for veg. Covers mites, aphids and powdery mildew early on. Spray right before lights off so it doesn't burn leaves under the light, and stop once flowers start since it leaves residue and smell on buds.

What I reach for when neem isn't cutting it, especially with thrips. It's spinosad based and OMRI listed for organic use. Same rule as neem: spray in veg, right before lights off, and follow the label.
