Confession: Buying fabric and actually sewing it are apparently two entirely separate hobbies. I’m enthusiastically pursuing both! 🧵✂️ This is my growing collection of UK fabric shops I love, from brilliant bargain finds and independent businesses to gorgeous dressmaking cottons, colourful Ankara prints and sewing shops worth discovering. I’ve bought from many of these shops, including some wonderful finds at the Knitting & Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace. Others are exciting discoveries I’ve added to my ever-growing fabric wishlist! I’ll share what makes each shop special, what I’d look for there and my favourite little sewing tips along the way. Whether you’re sewing your first dress, hunting for a bargain or simply adding to your fabric stash (no judgement here!), I hope you discover somewhere lovely.

Sarah Creal makeup is designed specifically for women 40+ and I’m obsessed with the concept. Beautiful, grown-up makeup that focuses on hydration, flattering textures and glow, rather than products that settle into every line!

Naturally, I went down the hair-growth and curly hair rabbit holes 😂 I quickly discovered there’s a LOT of marketing and very few magic shampoos and approximately 7,000 opinions on what you should do with curly hair 🙈. So this is my mix of scalp care, reducing shedding PLUS the products I genuinely use to keep my curls healthy, hydrated and defined. I’ll keep updating this as I try things and learn more because apparently I now research shampoo ingredients and curl gels for fun. 🤦‍♀️

have a weakness for jewellery that’s a little bit different 🥰 Not necessarily the biggest or the most expensive for this list…just beautiful pieces that make you stop and ask “Ooh, where’s that from?” These are the designers and pieces I’ve discovered (usually after yet another ridiculous research rabbit hole 😂) and genuinely love. From everyday pieces to completely unnecessary but FABULOUS earrings. I’ll keep adding my finds as I discover them..no gatekeeping! 💎
