Supplies to get you started.
Here is a list of supplies to get you started on your gardening journey. It really doesn't take much to start your own garden, even if you only have a small space. I've grown plenty of plants just on my apartment balcony. You got this!
Soil is a must. If you are growing potted plants, make sure to get potting soil and not garden soil!
Miracle-Gro For Container Plants 50 Quart(s) All-purpose Potting soil mix
This is a great, cost effective, seed starter option. It has everything you need (besides the seeds). It comes with a plastic top to give that “green house” effect and helps seeds sprout quicker.
Jiffy 72 -Cell Organic Natural Tray
If you already have soil, I love using these for seed starters. Easy to transplant once the sprouts outgrow the pot.
Jiffy 15 -Cell Organic Natural Pot
Easy plant fertilizer. All you have to do is sprinkle over soil and water. Do this every couple of months and you're good to go.

If you are planning to grow herbs, fruits, vegetables, or propogate, these are a must have. Canning is a whole other world to me though, I just use these for storage.

CIlantro is super easy to start and doesn't take much time at all from plant to harvest. Perfect herb for beginners.

Sunflowers take a little more time to grow, but they are so worth it. One of my favorite flowers. The best part, you get more seeds once they bloom. So you really only have to buy the seeds once.

Peppers are not a difficult vegetable to grow. The only issue may be adding a support. Whenever I grow them, they seem to need a stick to keep them upright.

I'm convinced pothos are immortal. You can literally forget about them (not that you should) and they still survive. Give them a little sun and spritz them with water every couple days, they're good to go.
