Funny Story by Emily Henry
A super cute and summery YA romance that takes place in Martha's Vineyard. A delicious slow burn that will make you want to book a trip to the lake house!
The Summer of Broken Rules by K.L. Walther
Favorite LitFic 📖
One of my fav TJR books. These felt like real people and often reminded me of Fleetwood Mac!
Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid
A main character you will scream at, but a great story on micro-aggressions, the publishing industry, and cancel culture!
Yellowface by R.F. Kuang
"A young New Yorker grieving his mother's death is pulled into a gritty underworld of art and wealth."
I picked this book up not long after my MIL passed. The way that Tartt describes grief through the protagonist is so accurate it hurt. You go on a JOURNEY with the main character, lots of bad, but also some good. So many important topics are covered....
The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt
Favorite Historical Fiction 🧳
A poignant and moving story of love, community, and fighting against injustice!
The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store
A gut-wrenching tale of a family trying to survive during the Great Depression/Dust Bowl era.
The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah
Favorite Science Fiction 🪐
An epic beginning to the Red Rising series all about classism and the moral ambiguity of good vs evil!
Red Rising by Pierce Brown
One of my ALL TIME favorite sci-fi novels. Explores racism, white superiority complexes, and overcoming all odds
Lovecraft Country by Matt Ruff
Privatized prisons make prisoners fight to the death in a new national sports program. An insane read focused on inequality, our corrupt justice system, and the fight to survive.
