The inspiration behind creating this list, well, was to find something for myself.  My son (11yo) and I make the family some handmade ornament every Christmas.  I'm tired of our ornaments looking ‘sketchy,’ so I wanted to buy a DIY kit from an actual designer.  This is the one I chose!  I love Macrame, and I think we will have a blast making these together. Bonus points, there is a video link if we need additional instruction. Wish us luck!

String Art!  I've never seen this before!  But I don't get out much…  These are nice and modern and minimal.  You can get them individually, or as a set of 6.  I am a cross-stitcher, and these might be perfect for my son and I!

You get all the laser cute wood pieces, you paint them (to complement your decor), then glue them together.  So cute!! I would pair this with the next item on the list… that cutie gnome.  :)

The ornaments from this Etsy shop are so unique, I think  would love to try my hand at making one myself.  This one specifically… I can taste the peppermint mmmmmm.  I don't think this would be a craft appropriate for the kiddos.  There are lots of pins!

When my step-daughter was young, we used these clear ball ornament packs one Christmas to make decorations for the family. We bought bottles of acrylic paints (just the primary colors and white and black) and some glitter, ribbon and little knick kna... Then glued the top shut and tied a pretty ribbon around it. That was a really fun, creative, and easy craft!

This one isn't really for the kids.  You will need some basic hand-sewing and embroidery skills to make these adorable critters for your Christmas tree.  Maybe get the book club peeps together during the holidays for this one!

I'm an avid cross-stitcher, and these are the kind of ornament gifts I give my family every year.  I usually stitch on cotton aida fabric and build the ornament (with stuffing too!). This style seems like a much easier way to do. These patterns look much more beginner friendly and quick to stitch.  This would be a great kit to buy if you are trying to get one of your kids into cross-stitching!  Or if you are a beginner stitcher :)
