Fun ways to Spread Positivity and Hope in the World

Random Acts of Kindness!  I love this trend, and I wanted to record some of the cool ways to send messages of hope and encouragement to strangers.  These messages might be exactly what they needed to hear at that exact time.  Have fun with this list!

Random Note Project connects people around the world through anonymous words of kindness. This is how it works; Write a message on a scrap of paper. The words you’ve needed to hear in a tough time always make for great notes. Add the web address randomnoteproject.com to the note. Hide your notes where someone might find them. Check our website and social channels to see what your words mean to the person who finds them.

Send a thank-you card to a local first responder (firefighters, police, ambulance..) These are the people who run towards danger in order to keep the rest of us safe. It is nice to notice what they do and thank them for it. Get a few of the neighbors...

Leave a dime in a random public place. Not all the time, just like once in a blue moon. There are many people in this word who believe that the dead and departed will leave behind a dime as a symbol of their presence. The dead want us to know they ar...

Mini encouragement cards are great for giving to someone who needs some extra encouragement, praise or compliment and help promote positive thinking. You can leave a card in someone's mailbox, or on a car in a parking lot if you prefer to remain anon... Or leave it on a park bench or some random place in public. You never know how you can affect someone else's mood!   #affiliate

Print out a few coupons or cut them out of your Sunday newspaper and leave them on top of corresponding products in the grocery store. It’s the intention that counts and people will appreciate it!

I like this idea, but I've never seen this in the wild.  I think this would be cool to see while you wait in a line-up, you know, getting grumpy and annoyed.  Then you look up and see this message.  (and the smiley face :)   #affiliate

Think of somewhere cool you went lately, and leave a positive review for that place on Google.  A lot of people tend to leave reviews when they have bad experiences.  Spread the lovin' feeling to your favorite restaurants or hotels or shops. Mention staff by name! This feels even better if they are a smaller business.

Yeah, life is really hard sometimes, and sometimes people just need to understand that they are not alone feeling this way.  They might see this message on your car at the right time; when they feel like giving up. It might give them the fuel for one more step. One more day.  #affiliate

Well… make sure no one sees you!  Leave a note for a co-worker complimenting them for something specific.  Place it on their desk when no one is around, and see how their mood changes for the day!  Be real though, be brief, and show some admiration for something they do well.  Show your appreciation and be authentic, and they will feel seen.  If you keep it simple and anonymous, it shouldn't feel creepy.

Write a clean joke on a piece of square paper, make a swan, and leave it somewhere for someone to find! Swans are often seen as symbols of grace, beauty, love and loyalty. Finding this little swan might feel like the world is still has a little magic... The person who finds this, may never open it up to see the joke.  All part of the mystery!  #affiliate

This might sound weird, but take 5 minutes and speak to yourself kindly. Quietly (but out loud!) tell yourself three things that you like about yourself.  This will likely boost your mood, and in turn, affect how you interact with your kids or partner or friends.  A positive attitude is contagious you know!  This may sound like a silly suggestion, but it really works… especially if you do this while looking at your reflection in the mirror.  It's harder than you think!

Maybe you are skilled crocheter… but I'm not.  Anyways, you could buy (or make) a few of these little cuties, and drop them off at a cancer treatment center.  Or a school. Somewhere where they could be handed to people who need a little friend to accompany them and boost their mood. Small enough to be kept in a pocket or purse.  Your emotional support chicken can escort someone everywhere!  There are so many different mini crocheted animals in this Etsy shop linked here… I just chose the chickens because they are my favorite!
