Deep purple is an unexpected choice for an accent color in your home. I find that this is a most uncommon choice, but people feel really ‘wowed’ by it when they see it done well. I would pair this color with warm grays of any intensity as a base and little shots of white or fresh yellow for bold contrasting pops. Cool metals like brushed nickel would really compliment this palette, while warm metals like copper and brushed gold would play up the rustic and passionate side instead. I think deep purple adds a luxurious aesthetic to a bedroom or living room, and might get the juices flowing, if you know what I mean. It is sultry, moody and bold. mmmmm Here are some home decor accents in this color I love so much… pillows, light fixtures, furniture, area rugs and lots more! I dunno about you, but to me… this bed is begging NOT TO BE slept on. This color is so passionate and unexpected. I expect this bedroom to see quite a bit of action ;)

Add a heavy dose of texture to your room with some dried flowers. This works really well in a room with lots of shiny glass and clean lines. This bouquet would really draw attention. In a modern metal vase or just laying on the table nonchalantly. Dried and preserved in California.

I love a good reversal of contrast in a room. Dark, richly colored walls with lighter and fresher furniture and accents. The deep purple walls with the white sheer drapes in this room are stunning! The triple pinch pleated sheers are a bit of a nod to the past and will add airy layered texture to the room to balance out the heavy color on the walls. Benjamin Moore is my preferred brand of paint, and I can suggest starting with the color ‘Purple... This is a pretty dark purple color that isn't TOO crayon, cartoony or pink. Grab a few different paint chips and see how they look in the room. When making bold color choices for a room, it is important to see how the color might look on a larger scale in different lights. Maybe grab a quart of the color you are thinking of and just paint a really big spot on a wall. Live with it for a bit and see if you still love it after a week!
White Sheers on a Dark Wall
I love the contrast in this piece, and the bold mix of color. The teal is a neat combo with the deep purple in combination with black and white. You could use this artwork as a color palette as inspiration for the rest of the home!

This pendant light is luxurious but playful. The color is so interesting and the glass has a handmade aesthetic. Everyone will ask where these came from… and you won't tell them ;)

This is a weird one, and people will be like… where'd you find the time to find all of those? Lol, well, you can buy them by the foot! How much space do you have to fill on the bookshelf?? BTW, these are actually books that you can read. Cool, right?!

I love this blanket because it is totally over-the-top! A super bold statement piece! I think you may have guessed that I love layering texture and I lean eclectic with my tastes. Again, I would include a piece like this in a room with shiny metals and sleek clean lines. These opposite textures together are like candy for the eyes. (and hands!) I've linked this to a Ukrainian artist with a popular Etsy shop, and these are made with 100% Merino wool. A little pricey and takes a bit of time to arrive, but it is the idea that is important here. If you just fell in love with this blanket… worth every penny!

These metal light switch plate and outlet covers are painted purple! Well… printed, and they come from Jurupa Valley, CA. A strange way to add little shots of color to the room, you can get any size covers for your outlets & toggle or rocker style switches.

An accent chair is an easy way to add a splash of extra purple… especially if you add a darker purple pillow to it! I love this particular chair because the style fits right in with many different decorating styles, including mid-century modern, traditional, and eclectic. Also, the gold metal legs are totally spot on trendy right now!

A little strange, but I love the idea of purple landscape artwork. In a pair, they take up quite a bit of space to make a great focal point in a room.

Seriously bold and juicy! This bed def makes a statement, and I love an upholstered headboard for reading in bed. Not that a lot of reading is going to happen in THIS bed…
Upholstered Wingback Bed
These work as home decor if you display them on an open shelf in the kitchen or bar area. Even better, in a cabinet behind a clear glass door! A sneaky little shot of color :)
I love the texture in the area rug. The color is so unique and the overall effect is stunning!

The line and shape of this arrangement are really beautiful. Calla Lilies are elegant and sexy, and I love the subtle shot of purple these add to the room!

I think this would be a fun artwork for the washroom! This artist is on Redbubble, and she is seriously obsessed with octopi. Grab a poster and frame it yourself for your purple bathroom or bedroom!

This piece reminds me of old-school pop art. Simple and repetitive, minimalist and modern… adding the perfect 3 shades of purple!
