For people who love board games and card games, and can't get a group together often enough to scratch the itch. These Solitaire board games are all of my favorites right now! (Except for one of them, you can read below) You can give your brain a little workout and forget about this crazy noisy world for an hour. Cozy up with a cup of coffee and the cat at your feet and enjoy some alone time. Without falling asleep on the sofa watching Netflix!
My #1 Solo Card Game. If you love shuffling cards and putting things in order, this one is for you! This can play in about 20 minutes and doesn't take up a huge amount of space on the table. The artwork is quirky and weird, and this game really takes me away from reality for a bit. #affiliate
Onirim
This is the game I grab when I'm feeling like hunkering down and taking care of myself. I grab a hot coffee and my favorite hoodie, and I start placing tiles. This is such a cozy and light game! Easy to learn, but it can take over the table before you know it! #affiliate
Dorfromantik
takes up a lot of space, but this is an awesome space battle dice placement game! The theme is a cross between ‘Space Invaders’ and "Independence Day,' this game gives me nostalgic vibes. Choose your difficulty, but this game usually takes me about 20 minutes to play. #affiliate
Under Falling Skies
This is similar to old-school solitaire, but you are lining up passengers to get on the lifeboats. The gameplay is more layered and complex than that. Sad theme, awesome artwork and components!
SOS Titanic
Creating patterns with animals and pretty components! Beautiful and restful solo experience. #affiliate
Harmonies
A simple and beautiful meditative tile placement game. Just place the tiles and lotus flowers. That's it! A cozy experience for 20 minutes of free time while you sip your tea :) #affiliate
A Gentle Rain
Oh my gosh, this is a vicious game. The fire is spreading across your forest, and you have to put it out before it destroys everything! You are scrambling to control it with all the tools in your belt, ooh….but that one little flame got away and stole the game! I find this a frenzied tower defense style game, and it is really hard to win! Wonderful quirky artwork and engaging gameplay. #affiliate
Sylvion
You are chasing the mysterious dark lady all around town trying to gain some clue as to who she is. This is a brilliantly designed solo game of deduction. I don't know how they did this… but it works. And it's awesome!
Black Sonata
Okay, okay, I'll admit. I haven't played this one. But it is on my wish list. If you ask any board game addict what their top 10 favorite solo games are, this will most likely be on it. I will get my very own copy one day and dive right in! #affiliate
Friday
I know this looks like a children's game, and I'm not a big fan of the artwork, but I looked past this and bought it for myself. This is a smooth and brilliant solitaire trick-taking game. That doesn't sound like it should work, but I promise it does. And no sooner are you finished your first game, you will set up for the next game. It is so addictive!! I love this game so much, (and hate the artwork so much…) I actually re-designed the ENTIRE GAME and had a ‘me’ copy (it's very dark…) printed for myself. I play with my game now and have much more fun.
For Northwood!
You need to buy this core box and one ‘episode’ to play with it. (an ‘episode’ is one of the boxes with a face on it!) There are so many episodes to choose from! You are trapped in a horror movie, and the bad guy is coming for you! You are the final girl… the last victim to decide to fight back to make it out alive. The game really does feel like this… scrambling to survive, maybe saving a few other victims along the way. Very hard to win… a bit of set up time and table space. But well worth thetime invested! #affiliate
Final Girl
Antimony is a little 18 card wallet game from Buttonshy. I bought it with the ‘Solar Flare’ expansion (6 extra cards) so I could play solo. What a great game! You need to be a magician and see 3 moves into the future for this to work for you. A very fun, slightly difficult game. The artwork is simple, colorful and strangely beautiful. I only pull out Antinomy when my brain feels up to it, and the house is quite so I can focus. I love this game!
Antinomy
The labyrinth of the cave unfolds as your team adventures through the dark tunnels filled with monsters and other terrors. You play 4 different characters, and the goal is to stay alive long enough to find the exit, and get everyone out. I rarely win this game, and when I do, I've never gotten EVERYONE out. It is so awesome! It takes up a lot of the table as you add tiles to expand your cave system. Even better, if your someone wants to play with you half way through the game, they can join anytime by taking control of a couple of the team members. This is a fantastic example of a fully immersive solo horror game.
Sub Terra
Another strange solo game with weird artwork. I love Castellion so much! This is essentially a timed tile-laying game where you are trying to get your troops in formation in front of the castle so they can defend against three waves of bad guys that will attack when the time is up. Hurry up! You'll have to think a fair bit to figure out this puzzle, but it is worth it! #affiliate
Castellion
This is a small ‘roll and write’ game. Very simply, roll all the dice and draw what comes up. You have goals you are trying to reach while you draw your roads and railways. It's a fun little puzzle that exercises your creative side. Beat your own last high score!
