Self Care Products I Use Every Day

Purple Star emoji 19 items
This is a list of products I use every single day!  Some of them for 15+ years…  These are my hair and skin care favorites that I seriously couldn't do without!!  I occasionally use other products, but these are the items that I buy regularly, and I have a backup of each item just in case I run out. FYI I am 47 year old woman with long thin hair and oily skin.  Sounds hot right??  Whatever, these items keep me cute and under control :)  These are my daily products, they don't cost a lot (except one), and most of them have been around forever.

Every morning, every evening before bed. For like 30+ years.  I lived in South Korea for a few years in my 20s, and this is something my mother would send me in my care package.  I don't know what else to say about this moisturizer.  It's changed bits over the years; added SPF and the packaging has changed. But it is still what my lovely face needs to get through the day.  I think if I ever put something different on my face, she would revolt against me.  There is no scent, it isn't greasy at all, there is no sticky or weird film afterwards, and it doesn't break the bank.   #affiliate

I use this liquid foundation every day.  It is the only makeup (along with powder) I actually use.  I mix it with my face cream and work it into my skin with my fingers.  I know… I'm probably doing it all wrong.  But it works for me and I haven't hurt myself yet!  haha  It doesn't build up in my ‘laugh lines’ and never looks cakey.  I've honestly not tried many different foundations, but once I landed on this one, I never had a reason to try anything else.  And there are several colors to choose from… and it is inexpensive! :)  #affiliate

I keep these in the car. When I get off of work, I use an oil paper before starting the second half of my day. I have oily skin, and I don't want to wash it a hundred times a day. I use these to push through to the end of the day, and they work like ...

I slather this cream everywhere after a shower.  I've used this for several years, and I love that it has no scent.  It goes on smooth and disappears with no film.  (This is a common thread through most of the items on this list!)  And most importantly, this one lasts for quite a while!  I live in a dry climate, and I'm don't want to apply body cream all the time.  Once a day seems to be fine for me… but I have naturally oily skin, so if you have dry skin to start with, you may need a couple applications a day.  Love love love this lotion!!   #affiliate

I have thin hair with oily skin.  I am forever looking for a shampoo & conditioner that won't weigh down my hair, and still keep it rather shiny.  This shampoo is the perfect combo for me!  And it doesn't cost a lot :) The scent is really interesting, and I find myself smelling my hair throughout the day. (yes, my hair is very long!) It is not too feminine or sweet a smell.  But I don't stink up a room.  It is perfect in every way!   #affiliate

This is the hand cream I carry in my purse.  It is friggn' fantastic!!  I wash my hands probably 20+ times a day (because of my job) and my hands are always painfully dry. This Udderly Smooth cream goes on sloppy, but absorbs and totally disappears!!  No oily or sticky residue. And there is no scent at all. Seriously amazing.  I like the small size of this tube because I have it in my purse.  I'm sure there are larger sizes available.   #affiliate

I use this after applying face cream and foundation.  It sets everything well, and lasts a long time.  I have oily skin, so I feel the need to use a powder so I don't shine like a Christmas tree.  I've used this Marcelle Powder for years, and it works great for me.   #affiliate

I only wear a touch of foundation (mixed with face cream) and translucent powder.  I use powder every day, and this is the brush I've used for probably 5+ years.  I wash it regularly, and it doesn't drop bristles.  It works the same as it did the day I bought it.  And it was super cheap.  100% recommend!   #affiliate

I love this deodorant.  It doesn't smell like anything, which I love.  I'd rather smell like my expensive perfume than sweaty florals. Lady Speed Stick doesn't ball up, or stain my clothes, and it stops me from stinking!! I have a very physical job, so my deodorant has an uphill battle, and I've never had a problem with... I tried to find a link to this on Amazon.com or target.com, but I couldn't find it.  Maybe it's just a Canadian thing.  I order it from Amazon.ca.   #affiliate

This is Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne by Jo Malone.  This is the one pricey thing that I splurge on and use daily.  This scent is hard to describe… from the website: ‘A fresh, mineral, and woody scent with subtle aromatic tones.’  I am a woman, but this scent would be okay for a man as well.  I don't like sweet or floral scents, and this is the one that really makes me feel like myself. If I go shopping and try another scent in a store, my son tells me that I don't smell like ‘mum’ and he doesn't like it.  The only down side to this one is it wears off about ½ way through the day. Try this out the next time you are in a Sephora. See if you like it as much as I do!   #affiliate

I normally don't like the scent of rose OR vanilla.  Too feminine and sweet.  But there is something about this body wash, I just love it and can't do without it!  I now buy it in a 4-pack because I know now that I'm never switching.  It's exfoliating (biodegradable beads) and it doesn't dry out my skin.  I smell AMAZING afterwards!!  The scent doesn't last for very long, don't worry.  #affiliate

Proper replacement heads for Philips Sonicare Electric toothbrushes cost about $10 each.  Off brand ones cost less than $2 each and work just as well!  Mine last a long while, but my son tends to press too hard on his teeth (--we are working on this haha), so we are replacing every 2 weeks or so.  There is no way I could afford the spend $10 every time.   #affiliate

This is the most amazing smelling hand soap I have ever used.  I feel like my bathroom is in a fancy hotel or something.  The scent is subtle and luxurious.  I've tried many, many liquid soaps, and all the JR Watkins soaps, They are really nice, but this one is the best! I usually pump 6 or 7 squirts of this soap in my reusable foaming hand soap bottle, and fill the rest with water.  Mix gently, and I have a wonderful smelling foaming hand soap!  I usually just buy the larger refill packs now because I know that I've found my ‘forever soap.’  #affiliate

I have long hair, and it can get kind of dry near the ends.  I spray this on the ends after a shower and style as usual.  There is a significant improvement in the feel and look of my hair using this.  I get reminded every once in a while… you know, when I forget to use it.  ugh.  I usually re-wet the ends and give'r a spray or two.  Sorry guys, I'm Canadian and usually order this on Amazon.ca.  I couldn't find this on Amazon.com or Target.  Maybe it isn't sold in the US?  Hopefully you have better investigation skills if you are interested in trying this out!   #affiliate

I started using wipes when my son was a baby.  I started using Hello Bello about 5 years ago and haven't considered buying anything else.  I have a package of wipes in my purse, in the car and near the toilet.  I've settled on Hello Bello brand after doing a bunch of research and noticing that they have no scent, they feel soft, and don't irritate our skin at all.  We use these wipes for EVERYTHING. #affiliate

I use bar soap twice a day; I wash my face in the morning and before bed. Dove Sensitive soap has no scent, leaves no residue, and works well.  I think that is what a soap should be.  I've been using this soap for as long as I remember. #affiliate

I bought this set of scary looking tools a long time ago, and the tin is all banged up now… but the tools are in 100% perfect condition still!  I used to get pimples, and -if used correctly- these tools work great popping pimples and extracting blackheads.  Way better than squeezing with your fingers.  I know!  Everyone says to leave them alone. But I am a normal human, and cannot let a giant pimple live on my face.  This set is way cheaper than it should be! #affiliate

I have long hair, and I wear it in a pony tail 95% of the time.  I've tried them all, and finally settled on these for the long term. They go in easy, they stay in place, and they don't rip hair out when removed.  I like the coil style, and I've tried the shiny plastic ones and the fabric style ones.  They were okay, but these matte finish ones are the best by far! These last forever… which is kind of annoying, because I need a reason to buy another pack with fun colors.  The last pack I bought were all brown, and I'm never going to get through them! *** Fun fact: when my son was little, if he started to fuss about and get cranky, I would take this out of my hair and give it to him to play with.  (supervised!!) He loved these, and these precious hair ties bought me time to finish what I was doing, as he played with the hair tie :) #affiliate

We live in the middle of Canada, and it is very cold and dry for half the year.  Lip balm is a must!  And I always buy (over the past couple years) this brand.  It comes in a set with different ‘flavors.'  My son and I argue over who gets what… but that's part of the fun!  It works well, doesn't feel greasy, and doesn't get all gummy in the corners of my mouth over time.   #affiliate
