Michigan has so many beautiful lake cities to visit so I added a few to engage your mind.  If you grew up above the Mackinaw Bridge in the Upper Peninsula people were considered YOOPERS and below the Bridge we are TROLLS.

I've never been here, because it's way up in Michigan's Upper Peninsula but my friend grew up near here and worked here and a funny story from her is that people used to ask her.."what time do they turn the falls off"  HAHAHAHAHA -

Christmas wonderland! Some of my favorite tree decorations are from here.  This is about a 2 hour drive from my house and one day I went on a whim here and ran into my sister - we could have car pooled and saved gas!!

Brave these dunes at your own risk - if you go to the bottom of the dune and cant get back up and have to be rescued you will be charged $3K.  That would for sure be a story to at the next family get together.

Coast Guard Festival is so packed that if you are not there by 7 or 8 am and putting your blankets down and getting your parking spot it will be hard to find something later in the day.  Great beaches, local shopping and a great paved walkway along the water to the pier is definately a great time.  Some of my favorite childhood memories from this summer city.
Grand Haven City Beach
