Michigan has so many beautiful lake cities to visit so I added a few to engage your mind. If you grew up above the Mackinaw Bridge in the Upper Peninsula people were considered YOOPERS and below the Bridge we are TROLLS.

Brave these dunes at your own risk - if you go to the bottom of the dune and cant get back up and have to be rescued you will be charged $3K. That would for sure be a story to at the next family get together.

Coast Guard Festival is so packed that if you are not there by 7 or 8 am and putting your blankets down and getting your parking spot it will be hard to find something later in the day. Great beaches, local shopping and a great paved walkway along the water to the pier is definately a great time. Some of my favorite childhood memories from this summer city.
