So we all know Portland as this lost cause pretty much. But...in case you're planning a trip out here, here's some places I suggest you go see.

Places to Eat
Located on the top story of a high rise bank building downtown, the view here is so gorgeous at night...just, good luck finding a good table. My recommendation is to go during happy hour (i.e., lunch time) order the Bleu Cheeseburger, try to forget y...
Portland City Grill | New American Restaurant in Portland, OR
Guys, this may just be as exotic as the eating venues are going to get for me, so don't go on expecting much more. Get the #87, with chicken, 5 star spicy, and a ton of fish sauce on the side (plus a medic standing by). You've been warned.
Arawan Thai Cuisine
Places to Go Nude
Technically, girls are allowed to be naked wherever. But try explaining that to a cop. Here are some locations you can feel safe baring it all. (Men too.)
Much better than Sauvie's Island's nude beach. Just don't go alone--there can be creepers.
Rooster Rock State Park - Oregon State Parks
I've never actually been to this thing, but it looks like a good excuse for why you're getting a pizza topless (or bottomless) that day. For those of you who actually bring a bike, be kind to your cooch, remember to clean the seat.
Portland's World Naked Bike Ride
Memorable Streets
I never thought I could describe a street as "raunchy" yet here we are.
Sandy Boulevard | The Official Guide to Portland
Love it or hate it, it's 82nd Ave.
82nd Avenue
Dear Portland, Next time we change the name of one of our streets, can we at least change it to a name that residents have heard of before. Sincerely, everone I've ever asked to tell me "who the heck is caesar chavez?"
César E Chávez Boulevard (Portland, Oregon)
It separates downtown from suburbia, and West from East. There's even a skate park under it skaters--from good to god-awful--are said to flock to from all corners of the US. Some might say Burnside IS Portland, arguably. I mean, they'd be wrong, but ...
Burnside Street
The street named after a shrink, now home to people drenched in patchoulli oil. Cool!

Places You Don't Want to Go Alone in Broad Daylight
Unlike other tourist-laden "Chinatowns" this place just innit what it used to be. Or maybe it still is. Crack central and just overall unpredictable af. A good place to go if you need to pee really bad and can't hold it. Just keep an eye out for cops...
Old Town Chinatown | The Official Guide to Portland
Another old landmark. Now middle aged buff men are frightened to enter the area by day.
Portland, OR - Union Station (PDX) - Amtrak
Cool Haunts Now Defunct - Sorry You Missed Out
Good bands. Good, intimate venue. Good luck finding it.
La Luna (Portland, Oregon)
Everyday Music... Not today...

Their cheese fries will live in infamy. RIP Roxy.
The Roxy (Portland, Oregon)
Chuck E Cheeses... Where a kid can be... well, nothing. It don't exist anymore.
CHUCK E. CHEESE - Portland, OR - Yelp
How this place went out of business puzzles no one.
24 Hour Church of Elvis - The Oregon Encyclopedia
I miss this place. Last time I checked it was a Mexican nightclub. Not sure what it has morphed into since then, but I sure miss those bubbles, I do.
Organ Grinder Restaurant

Since 2000? No way, since when?
I myself have not visited though it does sound "dignified". Suggestion: maybe make sure you know someone that lives there before just barging in? I am not sure about what the rules are here.
Dignity Village – Since 2000
Classic Portland
The floors creak and the smell's musty. They don't clean the graffiti off the bathroom stalls so you can even find a good read while you take a leak. What is not to love?
Powell's Books: The World's Largest Independent Bookstore
Hippies! Hippies! And more hippies! Or maybe things have changed over the decades. Why not green out and go see for yourself.
Portland Saturday Market
Under a bridge downtown... Well, it's near downtown. It's close enough.
Burnside Skatepark
Only Once a Year!
The parade is an old family tradition. There's even a carnival they set up on waterfront where your feet can get muddy, eat elephant ears, and win goldfish that will be floating at the top by the time you make it home. What can I say? It is truly fun...
Portland Rose Festival
So naked it gets TWO sections. (Keeping Portland Weird.)
Portland's World Naked Bike Ride
For the Kiddos
It's the closest thing to a theme park the state has. Might as well go, have a churro, and try to make the best of it.
Oaks Amusement Park - Where the Fun Never Ends!
Not "technically" important, to me this is close enough. Especially since seeing as actual Portland has very little for kids.
What's more "Portland" than singing karaoke while onstage next to you, a little chubby chick takes off her clothes. Can be a surreal experience for some.
