Sonia Johnson is my spirit animal in so many ways. She was excommunicated from the Mormon/LDS church in 1979 for publicly supporting the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) and speaking out against patriarchy.
She chained herself to the gates of a Mormon temple in 1980.
She ran for president of the US in 1984.
