Here are some great essential painting tools. I mostly work with acrylics so keep that one in mind.
I love these. They usually aren't very porous so the paint mixes well on them. Also I think it looks neat how the dried paint builds up on it lol.
Wooden Paint Palette
These cups are great with the lid because it keeps my cat from drinking my paint water!
Plastic Paint Cups
These are great for wiping paintbrushes off before rinsing them. I use it until it gets full then just wash it in the washing machine. Much less waste than using paper towels.
Microfiber Cloth
For my fine linework I actually use paint brushes meant for nail art. They're a lot smaller than most paint brushes.
Nail Art Brushes
For cutting copper wire if you use it with the wooden plaques. They can also help bend the wire. You can put the microfiber cloth between the wire and pliers to prevent marks.
Needle Nose Pliers With Wire Cutter
For protecting the table from paint. I personally use a thicker reusable one but you could also use those cheap ones from dollar tree if you don't mind replacing it every now and then.

Apple Barrel makes a variety of different types of paint. Most of my experience is with their acrylic paint and mod podge. They usually offer matte or glossy options.

I use this to cover my acrylic paintings on canvas and wood to help protect them from wear, tear, and time.

For the wooden plaques I put a bit on copper wire on them as a loop to be able to hang them.
