To be honest I have not used Utrech oil paints yet, but I have plenty of Utrech paints and mediums that I would highly recommend, and do.

I love Gamblin's 1980 oil paints. I've used them in the past and they still reside in my artistic pantry. They are smooth and lushes and good enough for any professional piece you may want to create.

Acrylic Paints
I use acrylic paint in a lot of my paintings. It is fast drying. Easy to use and maneuver and great for those practice projects - or - finished projects. It also makes a great underpainting medium for oil paints.
I personally have not used Blick brand acrylic paints, but I added them here as I wouls assume the are good quality given the brand name.

This is the brand that I use the most. Utrecht is a studio quality paint and comes in a verity of forms - from heavy body to acrylic ink.

The Basic brand is great for artists just starting out. It is affordable and decent quality for practice and beginners.

Watercolor & Gouache Paints
Watercolors are the most difficult (in my opinion) to learn and master, but once you do they are the most rewarding. The way the move and react with water is truly second to none.
I have not personally used Blick brand watercolor paints, but they appear to be decently affordable.

I personally have this set and it is rich, vibrant and with it being the primary colors the sky is the limit on the color mixing opportunities. Or, choose from already mixed colors.

Pastels, Powders & Leaf
Pastels (Pan, Soft or Hard) are a fun addition to any artwork or all on their own. I often used pastels in my artwork to lay down something fast, spontaneous and fun.
I love using pan pastels and have only just started discovering the capabilities. They go on like butter and create a beautiful opaque finish.

Soft pastels are oil based and so much fun to add to an oil painting during its final stages just to add that extra depth, fun and interest.

Hard pastels are nice all on their own, or added to an acrylic painting or even to just draw and outline something that you don't want permanent.

I put these here because they are on my wish list. I cannot guarantee you here, but I believe these can be used to make your own paint. Which is something I have wanted to try.
Natural Earth Paint ~ Mineral Pigment
This is the brand I currently have and use. They are shimmery and can add great interest to our painting. The beauty of these mica powder are that they can go over oil as long as you use an oil medium to apply them.

This is the gold leaf I currently use. Gold leaf can be messy, but it is well worth it as it adds an air of beauty to your art.

Inks & Pours
Boy how fun are inks. I love using them as underpaintings to get that “flow” and movement going and then layer other materials on top. This helps for that depth effect and can really aid in your painting standing out.
This is one of the brands I use and I highly recommend them. They are vibrant and flowy and just yummy.

So many uses for ink stamp pads. You can use stamps, you can smear directly on your work or your can pounce a design.

Not all inks need to be pourable or blendable. Ink pads can help with inerest by rubbing it directly on your canvas or paper or stamping an image.

I have only touched on using distress paints. I have a few in my supply tool kit, but have yet to really use them.

Now this is more a “pour” paint set and I have used it. What is nice about a paint pour over inks is that you can move them without water and they can create cells.

Make your own paint pour mixture using Floetrol. I have done both - mixed my own and purchased already mixed. The already mixed version is less messy, but mixing your own usually gives you a higher paint yeild.
