Great views. We had coffee and cake which were both tasty.
Pier One | Plymouth

A lovely spot to sit and enjoy the view - and the food. The food was fresh and tasty and came with a proper salad on the side - bucking the trend of a few rocket leaves being passed off as a salad.

Great food with friendly service. I opted for the Fish Friday meal and just managed to squeeze in a crumble for dessert.
The Lopes Arms | Plymouth

Cawsand and Kingsand | Beaches | Cornwall

Twin towns set on neighbouring beaches that are a short walk apart. Visit in summer, but avoid the weekends and school holidays if you don’t like crowds.

Great food and view. When in Cornwall you have to try a Cornish Pasty. I opted for the Cheese and Leek version which wasn’t too cheesy and was absolutely delicious.
The Devonport Inn | Kingsand

Noss Mayo | Coastal Village | Devon

A small costal village that is worth braving the one lane (two way) roads to visit.

A beautiful find with friendly staff and a selection of local beers on tap. I had a lovely cider while enjoying the view. It was a spot to break up the walk.

Picturesque views and historic buildings were the highlights of this walk. While the first part of the walk is on dedicated tracks, to complete the route you do need to walk on some roads. Fortunately most of them are only open to local residents so...

Dartmouth | Port City | Devon

A beautiful coastal town that is full of history.

A lovely scenic walk, I took loads of photos of the river, houses and historic military sites along the way. With plenty of tree cover, the walk was pleasantly cool on a hot summer’s day.

Don’t let looks fool you, we almost passed this by, but are glad we didn’t. The food was delicious. When other patrons raved about the quality of the scones, I had to agree, and the sandwiches were a hit too. The coffee one of the best we found in ...

The Foxhound sources most of its food from local farms meaning which means not only fresher food, but less CO2 emissions to get it on your plate.

Explore the village on your own or follow one of these routes and pick up some village history in one of these walks - I recommend the village walk.

Two Bridges | Rare Forest | Devon

A tiny village with great views of the Dartmoor region as well as some rare flora.

This tiny forest is one of the oldest and rarest in England. It’s worth a peek in through the trees to see the mossy stones and lichen, but don’t walk in and ruin the habitat. If you have walking boots you can continue on past the woods until you see...
Wistman's Wood | Dartmoor

With shaded outdoor seating, this is a lovely spot to stop for a drink. If you want a Devonshire tea with clotted cream, make sure you arrive before the afternoon bus.
