I was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome - CRPS for short - in March while recovering from a broken wrist. As a Canberra local who hosts lots of interstate international visitors, I know that Canberra is more than just 3 hours from Sydney, the snow and the beach. Here's the familiy's favourite list of places to showcase the best of Canberra. I've loved walking outdoors since I was a kid. Short walks, day walks, overnight walks; accessible walks and rugged walks; I love them all. I walked with family and friends and pushed my mum along some great accessible (and not so accessible) walks. This list includes some of my favourite walks in Australia.

As the days begin to cool down, I turn to warm meals and drinks. These recipes aren't fancy, but they sooth my soul. Variations of most of these recipes have been cooked by my family for generations. They feel like warm embrace from Nan or sitting by an open fire enjoying the heat and roasting marshmellows with Pop. Some of my favourite foods to grow at home. Not only do they taste better than supermarket varieties, they can also help make your dollar go further. For most you don't need a large garden; many can be grown in pots on the balcony. Warning: once you have tasted home grown foods, you might not want to go back to the buying them.

There is nothing like a great home-cooked meal have a day or more's walk in the bush. While there are a lot of light-weight pre-packaged options, cooking the meal from scratch allows you to tailor the meal to your taste buds. Growing up we didn't have a lot of money, so we had to find things to do that were fun, but didn't cost a lot. As an adult, I like to save money on the everyday things, so I can afford do more. I love the outdoors and exercising, but sometimes finding the motivation to get started is hard. Pokemon GO rewards you for getting out and about, and gives me an extra push to get out the door.
