I read the first few books in the series as a teenager, but they get REALLY weird the further you get into the series and I eventually just couldn't continued reading the rest of the books. I am interested in the prequels now though since I watched the MAX series and I've enjoyed Kevin J. Anderson's Star Wars books so I think I'd enjoy them.
I've enjoyed the series on Amazon through all seasons and was sad it ended. Great acting and a good story. There's violence in the Amazon series, but it wasn't over the top ala Aliens except in a few places. The series did some wonderful yet suble world building of the different cultures that developed as humans moved into space. It shows there was careful thought put into the show. It reminds me a lot of Babylon 5. Grittier and darker than Star Trek, but not bordering on horror like Aliens.
Philip K. Dick is a favorite for Hollywood adaptations. Bladerunner is just one of many movies that were based on his short stories or novels. I have to admit, I've neither read the book or watched either movie. It just didn't appeal to me though I know it's popular with many fans of sci-fi.
This is another book by Philip K Dick. There are many adaptations of his novels into movies and tv series. Not one I've seen though. I'm just not a fan of Tom Cruise in his scientology era.
I haven't read the book yet, but the movie was great! Matt Damon did a great job in this film.
I read these books as a teenager in my Asimov phase. These were good stories. I don't have Apple TV right now, but I'll probably get a subscription for at least a little while to see this series and a few others.
OMG I loved this book and the movie. Carl Sagan had an amazing way with words. Just such amazing descriptions and prose. He also had a hopeful outlook on the future in a time when Terminator, Aliens and 2001 were the norm for sci fi.
Arthur C. Clarke's classic series of novels about humanity exploring the solar system. “All these worlds are yours except Europa. Attempt no landing there.”
