Page to Screen - Thrillers

Purple Star emoji 19 items
While the book is always better, I love these small and big screen adaptations!  I don't read a lot of mysteries or thrillers, but I love watching them on screen!  I was a big fan of Tom Clancy back in the day right up until “Rainbow Six” and the ending of that book was when Clancy jumped the shark for me. I read a couple more, but eventually gave up.

This series intrigued me from the very first promo I saw, and it has not disappointed at all!  The acting is great. The stories are intense.  And honestly, the wardrobe department is just killing it!

Harry Bosch

I'm sad to see that Bosch: Legacy has been cancelled, but I'm looking forward to seeing the next spinoff.  I was late to watching Bosch on Amazon, but that's what binge watching is for.  I watched this series straight through over a weekend or two.  Bosch has the gritty edge to it I associate with 80's and 90's police procedural tv shows.

This series on Netflix has me intrigued, but I don't have a subscription. :(  At some point soon, I'll have to switch up my subscription services so I can see what this series is like.

Jack Ryan

10

I'm a longtime fan of the Jack Ryan series.  The Amazon series is a great adaptation with just enough of the original storylines to let longtime fans know what novel that season's storyline was based on.  I've loved the movies as much as the books. Alec Baldwin was the first to play Jack Ryan in The Hunt for Red October, but honestly Sean Connery stole the show in that movie.  Harrison Ford then took on the role for several movies followed by Ben Affleck then Chris Pine on the big screen.  Harrison Ford was honestly too old for the role.  Ben Affleck and Chris Pine were much better fits.
