Very calming and peaceful nature! We've also been to the spring flower show once and it was incredible! Bright and cheerful flowers all over. The fern room also cleared out my asthma symptoms while we were walking through. Free parking lot next door!

A fun little (and free!) museum dedicated to Mexican art. An enriching way to spend an hour or two (and then have some of the best Mexican food in the country) nearby. I especially enjoyed being there during their Day of the Dead exhibit.

I love FLW! It's been several years since I was able to tour the Robie House. At the time, they were still raising funds to do a full renovation. I believe those have been completed so I hope I get to see them!

A must see! It's just so striking. Grab a seat for a drink if you have time to soak in the vibe. Or even fun for just a quick walk through.

A sweet spot on the south side. If you time your visit just right, you will get to see Chicago's cherry blossoms bloom!

I had a dollhouse growing up made by my dad with love and care. It was absolutely my favorite thing. So of course I love the mini rooms at the Art Institute They are so unique and if you lean up close to the glass you can imagine yourself walking thr...

A nice peek into how rich people lived in Chicago. I kinda love museums like this. Very opulent, doesn't take a huge amount of time to go through, and a nice way to spend a couple hours. Bonus - if the weather is crappy, it's a great to escape inside...

At first the idea of going on a stroll in a cemetary struck me odd at best, and disrespectful at worst. But I came around. It's more like walking through a history museum that happens to be in a nature center. Everyone I encountered was also very min...

My favorite place to meet a girlfriend for a coffee, light brunch, or a drink. The space is just so pretty. Outdoor seating in the warmer months as well.

It's surprisingly hard to find a site with photos that do the Winter Garden justice. It's the top of the Harold Washington Library and it is divine.
Things To Do In Chicago on Instagram: "The top floor of the Harold Washington Library Center in Chicago houses the Winter Garden, a stunning glass-enclosed atrium. This serene and elegant space is often used for reading, studying, and hosting special events. It features a beautiful marble floor, graceful archways, and a glass-paneled roof that floods the area with natural light. The Winter Garden provides a peaceful retreat in the heart of the city and offers a striking contrast to the bustling urban environment outside. 🎟️ It is free and open to the public during the library’s regular hours. It’s a popular spot for visitors to relax, read, or enjoy the architecture without any cost. 📍 400 S State St. it’s the 2nd largest library system in Chicago by volumes held (the largest is the University of Chicago Library). 👉Follow @ThingsToDoinChicago formore. 📸 © by: @coffeebookstravel #chicago #thingstodoinchicago #chicagolibrary #haroldwashingtonlibrary #instachitown #chicagogram #mychicagopix #chitown #windycity #chicagoart #explorechicago #chicagoexplore"

Another one of those “it's on every must do list for a reason” items. This tour is must do. Ideally during nice weather or it's WAY LESS nice.

Grab some friends and float along the river eating, drinking, and catching up. A really nice way to experience the river.

A scenic reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the city. I will say, I haven't seen it since the Obama Foundation started building so I hope it's as peaceful as I remember.
