Sun Protection That You Don’t Need to Reapply
After a recent skin cancer diagnosis, I did a ton of research on how best to protect my skin moving forward. Aside from wearing sunscreen daily, I learned about the importance of sun-protective clothing.
Sun-protective clothing is made with fabric that has a UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) rating, which measures the amount of ultraviolet (UV) radiation that a fabric blocks from reaching the skin. A higher UPF number indicates better protection, with UPF 50+ offering excellent protection.
As someone who doesn’t love reapplying sunscreen every time I need to go outside, I loved this concept! I scoured the internet for the best uv-protective clothing for daily wear, and let me tell you, it’s slim pickings! Most sun-protective clothing is designed specifically for sports or hiking and is not my style.
