20 years living in Mass, these are THE best spots I found and kept coming back to. Mostly Italian, some asian, mexican/salvadoran. Plenty of sweets. Something for everyone.
Map
EAST BOSTON: This is THE best mexican spot in all of Boston. I would drive 45+ minutes just for their Birria. I tried birria all over Boston but nothing compared to this spot. The staff are always super friendly and remembered my name even when I cal...
Taquería Jalisco (Mexican)
SOUTH END/HARVARD: This is my favorite pizza ever. I usually go to their Lexington or Harvard Square locations but they are all over the area. If you like thin crust or grandma style pizza, you will love it. Huge slices, great price, always good.
The Upper Crust Pizzeria
BACK BAY: A must visit for anyone visiting. They have a variety of stations with italian classics. Sandwich bar, salad bar, pizza, pasta, fresh imports. Gelato bar is my personal favorite, affordable prices too!
Eataly (Italian)
EAST BOSTON: Best pupusas I've ever had. The slaw, sauce, everything is perfection. Staff are friendly, it's a small place so To-go is recommended but they have tables. 5 mins from Airport, absolutely worth visiting.
La Reina Cafeteria (Salvadoran)
FENWAY/BACK BAY: This poke house is better than PokeWorks IMO. Tucked away in an alley across from Berkeley, just a 5 min walk from the Prudential center. SO worth it. Fresh, clean, good price. One bowl is about ~15-17 dollars for me.
Love Art Sushi Fenway (Poke)
BACK BAY/NEWBURY: Tied for the best gelato in the city with Eataly. On the weekends there is easily a line out the door at this spot, but the line moves quickly. Great flavors, endless combinations, yes they have sorbetto AND gelato, 10/10.
Amorino Gelato - Boston Newbury Street
LEXINGTON: This one is about 15-20 minutes from the city but you can ride Mass Ave all the way down to get there. Small business owned by an older couple who are always so cheerful and friendly. Their froyo flavors are delicious and seasonal flavors ...
Fruitée Yogurt
BURLINGTON: They have multiple locations and some are closer to the city, but this is the one I know and love. This WAS the best cannoli I had ever had in my life (until I visited Staten Island) but to this day, it still holds the number 2 spot. Fast...
LaCascia's Bakery Deli & Catering
FENWAY: Classic post-game or post-concert spot. Their food is good, not amazing, but this is a solid spot to rely on for local fast food. They also have a location in Cambridge (I think?) that is good too. Burger-and-fry place, nothing fancy, but ico...
Tasty Burger
BACK BAY: *Wendy Williams voice* Now come on now? If you haven't been to Pressed, you haven't been to Boston. They have expanded like crazy in the past 5 years because their menu and vibes are off the charts. There is literally something for everyone...
Pressed Cafe (Local chain, so much more than a cafe)
NORTH END: second best pizza in the city. they have multiple locations as restaurants and just pizza spots. crust is crispy and crunchy, flavor is unique. so good.
Regina Pizzeria
ALLSTON: they have multiple locations around city and the northeast, but the vibes are unmatched. their sandwiches are always so fresh and delicious. this is the best coffee shop i've ever been to.
Caffè Nero
ALLSTON: If you've never had mochi donuts what are you even doing with your life??? they are chewy and sweet and so so good. there are only a few mochi spots in the city but this is the best one.
Mochinut
ARLINGTON: This Mass Ave spot is the best Indian food I've ever had in my life, ever. I love love their chicken and lamb samosas. Masala, Naan, can't miss. I still crave their food. Take the T here and explore downtown Arlington, you won't regret it.
Punjab Arlington
ARLINGTON: This little cafe is loaded with nostalgia for me. Same owner, an elderly woman, for decades, previously owned by her mother Gail Ann. Their sour cream muffins haunt my dreams (in the best way). No-frills counter service but this place is c...
Gail Ann Coffee Shop
BACK BAY: Anna’s is all over the city. It’s so good. Authentic as you can get in a local fast-food chain. Service is fast, food is delicious. Pricing is reasonable. This is a great spot.
Anna's Taqueria
SOUTHIE: This cozy little diner is everything. The servers are always so friendly. It’s the best 24hr diner around. Food is a bit greasy but served with love ❤️ this is one of my top favorite spots in the city.
South Street Diner
LEXINGTON: This is a big farmers market style grocery store about 20 minutes from downtown Boston. Their food is always fresh, locally grown and delicious. Must try’s are their hot fresh apple cider donuts in the fall, and their marble pound cakes.
