Amazing biscuits in a really tiny joint. The biscuits are fluffy and square for the sandwiches and the sausage gravy was flavorful and hearty. We got the Phil (fried chicken and sausage gravy - just a tint of spice) and the Howard’s (bacon, egg, and ...
Irregardless
Super neat restaurant, food hall, and market that serves plant based items
Plant City
Super fun little spot right along the riverfront serving cereal flavored ice cream with cereal dusting and a Rice Krispie treat square. When we were there, the four flavors were Trix, Oreo Os, Golden Grahams, and Cocoa Pebbles. The mystery flavor was...
Tizzy K's Cereal Ice Cream
We discovered this little gem of a restaurant accidentally when looking for another Italian restaurant that appeared to be closed, contrary to Google Maps. However, we were so happy to have found Geodono’s instead! Opened in honor of the chef/owner’s...
Geodono
Supposedly has a crème brûlée other reviewers loved. Note that it does appear to be a more upscale place so we got spooked and decided not to go in our jeans and sneakers.
Gracie's
Note that this breakfast / lunch spot is in Newport, RI (about 30 min from the airport with tolls, 60 min without tolls).
It’s right by the docks and includes both inside and outside seating. While not showing up on a list of best lobster rolls for ...
Belle's
This donut shop had a pop up at the seafood festival and we definitely indulged in the maple bacon version to wash down all of the seafood we ate. Honestly, so fun to watch them make these as well!
Sweet B's Donuts
This farm had a food truck at the Seafood Festival in Newport and their hot lobster roll was exactly what I was looking for. Warm lobster chunks, butter, and a bun.
Sunset Farm
This on-the-pier dining spot is run by the Newport Fishermen’s Cooperative and established through collaboration with the RI Dept of Environmental Management. It also features on lists of “best lobster rolls in Newport” and honestly, you probably can...
Newport Lobster Shack (Kitchen)
Do
Unfortunately, we missed this on our weekend visit, but every picture I’ve seen looks absolutely amazing and if you’re in town, I’d highly recommend going!
WaterFire Providence - WaterFire Providence
Fun little pedestrian bridge right in Providence’s waterfront. If you cross from the College Hill side and go right, you’ll end up at the Irish Famine memorial where you can learn a little more about the history of Irish Americans in the state.
Michael S. Van Leesten Memorial Bridge
Super neat craft show for students and alumni of the renowned RISD. The students and recent alumni had a special placard denoting their status and we saw some really, really neat art in multiple mediums!
RISD Craft: 2024 FALL ARTISTS
Fun little dining and shopping area located in Newport, RI. We happened to catch them during a seafood festival so even more vendors were set up. Definitely fun to just walk and sample!
Bowen's Wharf
Sleep
Affordable and well located to explore RI. It’s actually right by the rental car and train station for the airport - and you can walk all the way to the hotel. This is perfect for early flights or late night arrivals and a great base for exploring th...
