Homemade Bread Night: Recipe + Everything I Use
Cozy Crusty Bread Recipe⬇️
Ingredients:
• 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
• 1 tsp pink Himalayan salt
• 1 ¾ cups warm water
• 1 tsp sugar
• 2 ½ cups flour (additional for dough)
• 2 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
• Olive oil (for pan + drizzle)
• Flaky sea salt (for topping)
Instructions:
1. In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 10 minutes until bubbly (this means your yeast is active!).
2. Add the flour and salt to the bowl. Mix until smooth and combined. I used a stand mixer with a dough hook, but you can mix by hand too.
3. Cover the bowl and place in a warm, dark spot for 1 hour. The dough should double in size.
4. Drizzle olive oil in your loaf pan and spread a little on top of the dough before baking. Sprinkle flaky sea salt over the top.
5. Bake at 400°F, covered, for 30 minutes. Then uncover and bake for another 20 minutes or until golden brown.
6. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing (if you can wait that long). The crust? Chef’s kiss. Crusty, golden, and perfect with butter or soup.
