I HIGHLY recommend this book, The Hidden Plague to anyone who has HS, friends and family of HS warriors, and any medical professional. This disease is so hard to deal with on a daily basis.

This Anti-inflammatory diet book is worth checking out. And also, worth trying. I have done the anti-inflammatory diet and it has helped some.

Products I use on flares and how I use them.
Hibiclens works great for HS. I use it 2-3 times a week. I prefer the foaming kind.
Hibiclens Antiseptic Skin Cleanser 4 oz Pump
I use this soap daily. If it’s a Hibiclens day, I use this first and then the Hibiclens.
111MedCo 10% Benzoyl Peroxide Acne Soap
This product is spendy, but let me tell you, it is SO worth it. I use it everyday on any flares. On big flares I use quite a bit and put a dressing over it. If you are struggling with HS, and try any of my recommendations this is the top one I would ...
MyMagicHealer Universal Flare Care 1oz
Dressings
These are the dressings I prefer, however this is very much not “one size fits all”. Our skin is so sensitive so what works for me may not work for you.
The mepilex border dressing has worked great with my sensitive skin. I can leave it in place for 24 hours and it sticks and doesn’t fall off. Plus it absorbs any drainage.
Mepilex Border Flex Lite 4x4in Hospital Dressings
I use the gauze pads everyday. I use them for cleaning and with tape to hold in place. They are very soft on my skin.
Amazon Basic Care 4x4 Sterile Gauze Pads, 50ct
This is the only tape that does not irritate my skin. It’s really great because it is stretchy and stays in place.
Hypafix Stretch Dressing Tape 2" x 10 yd
This is the wound cleanser that I prefer most. It works well to spray it on and wipe off with gauze. It’s really nice because you don’t have to rinse it off. So it’s super convenient.
McKesson Dermal Wound Care Cleanser Spray 8oz
Supplements
These are the supplements for HS that I use after a lot of research.
My dermatologist recommended I take Zinc. I researched many brands and Thorne is a brand I trust. Zinc is beneficial for wound healing.
Thorne Zinc Picolinate 30 mg - 180 Caps
I was tested for vitamin d levels, and no surprise, I was deficient. Most people are deficient in Vitamin D. One of the vitamin brands I trust is Thorne, so this is the one I take.
THORNE Vitamin D-5000 D3 Supplement 60 Servings
I do splurge on this vitamin. I really like the Cymbiotika Vitamin C, and I like the convenience in the packaging. I am adamant on taking Vitamin C because I am on an immunosuppressant medication for my HS and I work in healthcare. Vitamin C promotes...

These are other things I use that are helpful for HS
Red light therapy is known to be great for your skin and for inflammation. I purchased this brand, but the model I have is no longer being sold. I try to use it everyday, and I will say it definitely helps with the pain.
BestQool Dual Chip Red Infrared Light 105W
This is the heating pad I have. If I have a flare that is super painful, needs to drain but won’t, I will roll up this heating pad and keep on the area for 20 minutes around 5 times a day. What I love about this specific heating pad, is you can do mo...
NOWWISH 12x24 Heating Pad for Back Pain & Cramps
These Woxer boxer briefs are my favorite underwear. They are spendy but they are so worth it. They hold up great after many washes. They are so soft and do not irritate my flares. I do not wear regular underwear anymore, I just can’t. So I invest in ...
Woxer 5" Baller Boy Shorts for Women - Soft Modal
HS support groups. I have joined many Facebook HS support groups. It has been so helpful in my journey to know that I am not alone, and to get advice, and to just vent.

This permanent hair removal device has really great reviews. Personally, I am getting laser hair removal through my dermatologist because my insurance is covering it. If they decided not to cover this is the device I would buy. Shaving and waxing mak...
Ulike Air 10 IPL Laser Hair Removal Device
This is the only deodorant that I can use that doesn’t irritate my skin or make my flares worse. It also is the only aluminum free deodorant that keeps from smelling. If I do have a flare on my armpit I will not use any deodorant at all however.
