Museums
London has many museums, some well known and in the center of it all and others that are off the beaten path.
No tour to London is complete without a visit to the Tower of London. When there I highly suggest getting in on a guided tour and maybe just ask a Beefeater about scoring an invite to the night event were you get a more behind the scenes experience.

A fascinating look at where Churchill and company secretly planned the many of the important operations during WWII. Does not take a great deal of time to visit and has a cute gift shop at the end.

Visit sites in Westminster before finishing at Churchill's War Rooms with an audio tour.

This museum is so expansive that you could easily stay the day. Some highlights include the Rosetta Stone, Elgin Marbles, Wing Lions of Nimrud, and more. Also they have a nice restaurant that I use to eat at every week!
British Museum

I really enjoy military museums and have a particular interest in WWII. This is an amazing museum with exhibits showing all the various conflicts England has been involved in. It is a little more out of the way then the other sites but it is worth a visit.

This museum is in the center of it all and offers the ability to see amazing art from a long range of history.

What I love about London is all the amazing buildings and city life and yet the ease and ability to get to a large open beautiful park. I try to walk through a park at least once a day.
I always take the opportunity to walk through the park when I can!
Hyde Park
In the summer a must visit for visitors who love roses! They have a beautiful rose section within the gardens.
Regent's Park
I often spent my time walking from place to place in London and after our group was finished near the river I would opt to walk back through this park.
St James's Park
I have a particular affection for botanical gardens and make sure to see everyone in any city that has one. It is a little bit of a trip to get to but a lovely place to spend half a day!

Theater, Government, and Areas of Interest
Theater is huge in London like Broadway is in New York City. I have been known to go to the theater at least three out of four nights I am in town. Some of the best productions I have ever seen have been in the West End! In addition you can't miss other iconic areas of London and the all important Big Ben!
If in London a must is to attend a show in the West End. I have seen some amazing productions here. I try to get in a few shows every time I visit.

I always hit up this stand when in London and have snagged some great prices and amazing seats over the years! If I had my way I would go to theater every night!

You honestly may pass this a many times as you move around the city. It is iconic to see.
Trafalgar Square
No trip to London is complete if you have not at the very least walked outside and near Big Ben and Parliament! You can also visit the interior as well and get a tour.

Palaces, Churches, Cathedrals
If you are headed to London no trip is complete without visiting Buckingham Palace, and if you are there late summer, early fall check out getting tickets to actually go into the palace. It is a must at least once in your life!

I enjoy getting inside these palaces and seeing a little glimpse of what royalty life is like. This is the birthplace of Queen Victoria and they have some great displays!
Kensington Palace
If you like history or even pop culture with the royals, this is a must see in London. So many amazing events in London's history has taken place here.
Westminster Abbey
A little more out of the way then some of the other sites but it is very different from Westminster Abbey and impressive in itself!
St. Paul's Cathedral
Markets and Shopping
London has an abundant amount of shopping that fits all budgets and styles. These are just a few of my favorite shopping experiences.

Covent Garden
I love this store. It started as a grocery store in 1707! I enjoy wandering around and seeing all the displays and window displays outside. You can also have afternoon tea here which is must do experience if in London!
Fortnum and Mason Piccadilly
I use to stay a few blocks away from Oxford Circus and so I got very familiar with all the shops and restaurants in the area. You can find anything you need.
Oxford Street
Always interesting and eclectic. I have manage to find some cute clothes here!
Camden Market
This may age me, but if you are a fan of Notting Hill you may want to come explore this wonderful market and neighborhood.
Portobello Road Market
Grab a London Pass if you know you'll be visiting many of the attractions in the pass, including the London Eye.

Helpful Items for Your Trip
I suggest a back pack or a sling bag. It kind of depends on preference. With all the traveling we do to all sorts or places a secure bag is useful. Lots of pro travelers love this bag!

RIFD Passport cover with air tag holder. I have been lucky enough to not lose a passport but its important to keep your passport safe with the RIFD protection and then the added benefit of putting an air tag in! I love holders that have extra little pockets for a few added things as well.

If you want something more compact that protects your cards, these are some great options.
Mens RFID Wallet
This is the other more condensed RFID blocking wallet. This one is a little nicer for travel if you don't intend on carrying so many cards. I also loved having one with the ability to have my photo ID in a pocket on the outside but did not have the separate coin area. This was my actual wallet before moving to the larger one I suggest.

I think its handy to travel with a voltage adapter as well as general adapters. For many products they only need an adapter as they can handle different volts. But for other electronics you will want a converter. When traveling with hairdryers, curling irons, some cameras and laptops, etc, you will want a voltage converter.

I always make sure I have some adapters and that they have USB slots as well. I have been known to travel with a larger one with an extension cord as well.
