Starter Kit

You truly only need a journal, something to cut with, and glue! Here are my top recommendations. I also recommend starting with just one journal, and one or two hole punchers

Additional tools and products that can make junk journaling easier and more fun. Do what works for you! Definitely get a hot glue gun if you want to add non-paper scraps (which tend to look really cool in my opinion).
