Spring Conditioning for Horse & Rider

Purple Star emoji 15 items
Taking care of your horse and yourself requires a little extra support as we get back to riding in springtime. After four decades in the saddle, there are some things I can't do without. These products are some of my favorites. For horse and rider.

Epsom salts are a staple in my bathroom and in my tack room. For soaking in the tub for me and soaking my horse's feet when they need it, this is an essential.

A good set of polo wraps is essential in my tack room for everything from wrapping legs to creating body awareness in the horse. Putting on 2 different colors on diagonal legs can help me see my gaited horse's progress more clearly too.

This works great to throw on while grooming to help warm up the horse's back muscles before we go to the arena. It's not a substitute for a slow warm-up but a nice addition to it.

Tribute feeds power all of my horses and have for years. From a starvation case that needed extra care to hard keepers to a stays-fat-on-air draft/gaited cross, they all do great on it. I love these feeds.

Spring weather means the bugs are back. For my fly-sensitive girl, fly boots are a must. Some options work better than others depending on the horse, but we couldn't do without them.

Navigating shedding season requires the right tools, and these gloves are built for it. I don't blanket my horses so there's lots of shedding out to do in the spring. These gloves help me get the job done. I always have a pair or two around.

Riding gloves are an essential item for protecting my hands, making sure I have a good grip on the reins, and buying a fun print makes them a joy to wear. Lots of types to choose from too. I love crochet backs for summer time.
