My favorite restaurants in Oregon that I've enjoyed over the years.

This original structure from the 1850's houses one of the most iconic restaurants in Oregon. Located in rural Silver Lake, Oregon, Cowboy Dinner Tree serves some of the best food I've ever had - anywhere! There are two items on the menu: a 30 ounce steak or a whole chicken, both served with plenty of fixins to never allow anyone to leave hungry.

Housed in the iconic Timberline Lodge, CDR is a rustic, yet high end destination restaurant high in the Oregon Cascades. Overlooking Timberline Ski Area, Badger Butte, and Mt. Jefferson, Cascade Dining Room's floor to ceiling windows provide guests with amazing views of sunrises and sunsets.

Nonna's has some of the best pizza I've ever had. A thick, soft and flavorful crust is the base for their pizza covered with large pieces of house made sausage, pepperoni and other delicious toppings. Their pizzas are cut into small squares - don't fret - it only takes a couple for you to leave content and happy to take the rest home with you!
Nonna Emilia Ristorante Italiano
Biscuits Cafe was the go-to place for a late breakfast after a morning round of golf. Fluffy biscuits with plenty of gravy is a favorite for all. Their menu is extensive and full of a variety of breakfast favorites. Don't be late - they are only open for breakfast and lunch seven days a week!!

A favorite haunt in my hometown, “The Nickel” has been around for years. It's that place you go to to meet up with friends, have a great meal and tip a few back while enjoying the company and maybe a game on one of the big screens. A great selection of beer on tap, plus a full service bar is supplemented by delicious daily specials and an excellent menu.

The “new kid on the block”, High Water has been around for only a few years, but has already made its mark in Silverton. Owned by a local restauranteur, High Water is a two story locale with indoor and outdoor seating to fit your fancy. I love the menu here - it's not your normal faire, but is a delicious outside the box mix of the unique takes on original favorites. I often will make this my go-to when in town to hang out with friends.
High Water Grill
Mo's is a must go to when on the Oregon Coast. There are several locations to choose from, each using the same clam chowder recipe that put Mo's on the map. Their Newport, OR location is a fantastic place to meet new people as their dining room is bench seating - see an open end of a bench table? Just sit down with your new friends already at the table and have a great time!! Many locations are small and out-of-the-way, but those are magical locations (like Devil's Punchbowl) where the scenery is as good as the food!

Salty's is located right on the Columbia River in Portland, OR, where one can watch pleasure boats, sail boats, and commercial shipping sail by while enjoying some of the finest faire in Portland. Parking can be tricking, so don't hesitate to pay for the valet parking.

Located at the base of the hill in Rice Hill, OR, K & R is one of those places that is a must-stop every time we travel on I-5. Their burgers are awesome, but their shakes are out-of-this-world!! It's easy to miss, so make sure you map this one out before heading off your travels!
K & R Drive Inn
You're doing yourself a disservice by not stopping by the Creswell Bakery for either one of their amazing cinnamon rolls or a sandwich on their daily fresh baked bread. This place is very popular so get there early and bring your appetite!
Creswell Bakery
A favorite place for us to take the family after soccer practice when the kids were young. Great food, but the kids' favorite were the milkshakes! So many flavors to choose from - the peanut butter / marshmallow was my favorite! Bring cash, cause they don't take plastic!
Skyline Restaurant
If you're traveling out Hwy 26 to or from the Oregon coast, Camp 18 is a must stop restaurant. A historic building from the hey-day of logging in the coast range, Camp 18 is a walk back in time with their museum pieces out front to their memorabilia inside. The food is fantastic, too!

The only thing better than the view from this restaurant perched high in the west hills of Portland is the food itself. Chart House is a fantastic steak and seafood establishment with a wine list to match. Make sure to use the valet parking as parking here can be a challenge at times.

Our favorite place to go for comfort food. The Chicken Yakisoba is excellent - add a side of Gyoza to round out your take home meal to enjoy while watching the game.
