A gift list for men of all ages

We visited Spain and Portugal back in May and we had a great trip. We stayed close to the Gothic Quarter, which was quite central to most tourist spots. It is a wonderful city and I would definitely go back again!

I visited Portugal in May, and it's a charming place. I'd recommend going in April, May, September, or October for milder weather and fewer crowds. Portugal is budget-friendly; we used Uber everywhere in Porto and Lisbon, which was cheaper than taking taxis. Some taxis only take cash, so be sure to check with the driver before getting in. We took the comfortable train ride from Porto to Lisbon and scored discounts by buying tickets in advance. Inform your bank about your travel plans; I did not do it and could only withdraw cash in Lisbon but not Porto. Many attractions are crowded, so consider tour options to skip the lines if time is important for you. Bring comfortable shoes!! Lots of walking on cobblestone streets and Lisbon is hilly.

I have picked up hiking during the covid pandemic. The hikes I do is typically 4-9 miles, roughly 3-6 hours. 1-2 times a week. Here's a list of essential items to consider for a half-day hike to ensure your safety, comfort, and enjoyment. If you are new to hiking, always hike with a buddy. I have joined a hiking group and this is the best way to discover new trails.

As a mom of 2 young adults, I have been through it all. My advice is don't overpack because you have to move out of your dorms after your first year and repeat the process the following year and so on: meaning you need to pack up everything again and moving is not fun! After deciding on who your roommate is going to be in the dorm room, decide what items are shareable such as small refrigerator, microwave, fan etc. and decide who is bringing what. Sometimes it is best to buy things after you have moved into the dorm to get a better sense of what you need. I have included some tips on the items you need.
