Things I Bought Because I Was Tired of Being Uncomfortable at My Desk

items Apparently sitting like a shrimp over my laptop for six hours is not a sustainable work setup. These are the little desk upgrades I’d actually buy to make studying or working for hours way more comfortable, whether the problem is your neck, back, wri...
Starting with something I thought was completely unnecessary until I actually used a footrest. If your feet don’t sit comfortably flat on the floor at your desk, having somewhere to rest them makes sitting for hours feel SO much better. This one is m...
ComfiLife Foot Rest for Under Desk at Work and Home, Comfortable Memory Foam Footrest with 2 Adjustable Heights, Removable Washable Cover, Black
If you spend hours looking DOWN at a laptop, please raise the screen. This lifts your laptop almost six inches so you’re looking much closer to eye level instead of slowly folding yourself in half all day. It also has such a clean aluminum design tha...
Rain Design mStand Laptop Stand, Space Gray
For anyone stuck with a desk chair that feels fine for twenty minutes and like concrete by hour three. This has memory foam plus a cooling gel layer, so you can basically upgrade the chair you already own instead of immediately buying an entirely new...
Mind Reader Office Chair Cushion, Ergonomic, Orthopedic, Portable, Car, Memory Foam, 18.25"L x 14.25"W x 2.75"H, Blue, Gray
If you type ALL day, this is the kind of upgrade I think is actually worth spending money on. The keys have a subtle wave shape so your hands sit in a more natural position, and there’s a cushioned palm rest built right in. Definitely more of an inve...
Logitech Wave Keys Wireless Ergonomic Keyboard with Cushioned Palm Rest, Comfortable Natural Typing, Easy-Switch, Bluetooth, Logi Bolt Receiver, Rose
For everyone who owns a perfectly functional desk and somehow still ends up doing half their work from bed. At least let’s make the bad habit slightly better lol. This gives your laptop an actual flat surface instead of balancing it on a blanket, has...
LapGear Memory Foam Lap Desk with Wrist Rest, Fits 15.6-Inch Laptop, Silver
My second footrest option if you want something really soft rather than a hard plastic platform. It’s basically a little memory foam pillow for your feet, which sounds ridiculous until you’ve been sitting at your desk for five hours and suddenly unde...
Everlasting Comfort Memory Foam Under Desk Foot Rest for Office and Gaming Setups
If you don’t love the squishy memory foam footrests, this is the structured version I’d pick. You can adjust the height and change the angle as you move around, which I actually really like because I am physically incapable of sitting in one position...
Mind Reader Foot Rest, Under Desk at Work, Ergonomic ...
Okay wait, THIS is my weird find of the list. It’s a supportive reading pillow AND comes with a portable lap desk, which is kind of genius for studying from bed, reading, or watching lectures. I’d absolutely rather prop myself up with this than slowl...
Nestl Reading Pillow Bonus Portable Lap Desk Stand for Laptop, Shredded Memory Foam, Large, Navy
This is exactly the kind of oddly specific desk product I love finding. Instead of buying a separate keyboard riser and wrist cushion, this combines both so your keyboard and hands actually line up properly while you type. Especially worth looking at...
LIMOUS 17.3" Ergonomic Wave Keyboard Wrist Rest with ...
This is the lap desk I’d choose if you’re picky about angles. It has eight different positions, so you can actually tilt your laptop or tablet toward you instead of bending your neck toward the screen. Underneath are padded cushions too, which makes ...
Mind Reader 11" x 14.75" Plastic Lap Desk with Cushion, Black (LTADJUST-BLK)
For anyone who genuinely works from the couch enough that the tiny lap desk is not cutting it. This one has space for your laptop plus a built-in mouse pad and phone slot, so it feels much more like a mini portable desk. I also love that it looks cle...
LapGear Home Office 21.1" x 12" x 2.6" Lap Desk, Gray Woodgrain (91545)
My pick if you have a bigger laptop because this fits devices up to 17.3 inches. There’s also a slot that can hold your phone or tablet upright, which I love for keeping a second screen visible while I work. Basically turns whatever random chair or c...
LapGear Portable 17.8" x 13.5" x 3" Laptop Lap Desk, Black
Okay, the practical products are allowed to be cute too. This has the same cushioned base and stable work surface I want from a lap desk, but the blue floral print makes it feel significantly less like office equipment. If it’s going to sit next to m...
LapGear Designer 17.75" x 13.7" Lap Desk, Blue Blossoms (45433)
Another random find I had to include because the little BUILT-IN LIGHT is so smart. If you’re studying in bed while your roommate or partner is sleeping, you can actually see your notes without lighting up the entire room. It also has a cushioned bot...
Lavish Home Foam Cushion Laptop Lap Desk with LED Gooseneck Light in Blue HW0500037
This is the fully committed version for people who basically work from anywhere except their actual desk. You get a large laptop surface, built-in mouse pad, phone slot, wrist rest, and cushioning underneath. If you’re going to spend hours working fr...
LapGear Home Office Pro 21.1" x 14.1" x 2.6" Lap Desk, Silver Carbon (91615)
