A port is a small medical device, placed under the skin, usually in the chest that connects to a vein, allowing easy, long-term access for treatments (chemo, fluids, blood draws) without repeated needle sticks, using a special needle (Huber needle) to access a self-sealing rubber center, keeping the port usable for months or years while you live normally.
