Films to watch in bed. I was born in the 70’s so my favourite films to go back to time and again are from the 80’s and 90’s. There’s something comforting about watching things from your youth isn’t there?
I was 14 when this film came out! I was absolutely in love with Duckie ❤️
Pretty in Pink (1986)
I have LOVED Kevin Bacon since I first saw Footloose. I never miss an opportunity to rewatch it.
Footloose (1984)
This is the BEST vampire film. The cast is unreal and the soundtrack…utter perfection. I have lost count how many times I’ve watched it!
Watch The Lost Boys | Prime Video
I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve watched this film. I absolutely love it!! I think this is where my true crime obsession started.
The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
The first of the Terminator films. It’s such a good franchise, if you haven’t already seen it start from here.
The Terminator (1984)
This is my ultimate favourite of the Terminator films. It’s full of action and the soundtrack is just perfect.
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
I was 15 when I saw this film at the cinema. It had such a huge impression on me. I still love it now.
Dirty Dancing (1987)
An all time 90’s classic. Sandra Bullock & Keanu Reeves are perfect together in this fast paced thriller.
Watch Speed | Prime Video
This is an easy watch film. I love Sandra Bullock so I’ve seen this a few times. It’s quite interesting to see the change in technology from then to now but some of the storyline is predictive of our current times.
The Net (1995)
Beautiful scenery and (in my opinion) one of my favourites of Brad Pitts.
Legends of the Fall (1994)
This is such a classic John Grisham tale. Brilliant cast and thought provoking storyline. I’ve watched it so many times.
Watch A Time to Kill | Disney+
You just can’t beat the Back to the Future franchise. I still love to watch them now. Can’t beat watching Michael J Fox in anything.
Back to the Future (1985)
This is such a brilliant 80’s classic you have to see it!!
Watch WarGames | Prime Video
The names in this 80’s classic are all household ones. It’s a brilliant film from its time with a great soundtrack. It’s a must see.
80's Movies - Sky Cinema
This is essential viewing!! I loved it when it came out and it’s still great to watch now.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986)
You just can’t beat the brilliance of this classic film. The ultimate story of friendship.
Watch E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial
This film started my love of Ewan McGregor. This is an absolute classic, gritty and dark but funny and entertaining.
Watch Trainspotting | Stream free on Channel 4
This film is just incredible. Brilliant plot, acting and obviously the incredible Bruce Willis at his best.
Watch The Sixth Sense | Disney+
Top Gun. The film the 80’s is probably most known for. I watched it at my local cinema on a double bill. First Pretty in Pink then Top Gun. Oh to be 14 again!!
Top Gun (1986)
Such a great feel good movie! Julia Robert’s just glows! Absolutely a classic.
Watch Pretty Woman | Disney+
I think every woman loves this film! Female friendship at its best. And I believe Brad Pitts first ever film role!
