California has an enormous number of famous restaurants. My reviews are for the lesser known restaurants in smaller towns. If you're road-tripping through California, these restaurants are worth the stop.
Truckee - We stopped at this restaurant when we stayed at Donner Lake on our ancestral travel trip. Besides delicious food and great customer service, The ambiance captured its own history and that of the town.

Beaufort - This restaurant is about a mile before you get to Beaufort. Don't miss it. Their seafood is delicious. The ambiance is fun. The customer service is excellent.

Charleston - Great lunch or dinner stop when in Charleston, SC. Their seafood is excellent, the service great, and if you are there at the right time of the year, you may see dolphins breaching the water.

Columbia - This tea house has became a habitual stop for us when we are in Columbia, SC. The Mediterranean dishes are excellent and the service is fantastic.
