Hair products that helped me rebuild my hair and grow it stronger & healthier
I used to have very long, thick hair… until bleach, heat, and frequent washing caused breakage. I had to cut my hair much shorter than I wanted and slowly start over. 🥺 The products in this list are the ones that genuinely helped me rebuild stronger, healthier hair over time. No miracle products, just smart, consistent choices that fit real life. ✨ One thing I learned with time and experience: cutting your hair hurts at first, but damaged ends keep breaking anyway. Holding on to length out of fear only leads to thinner, uneven ends. Regular trims actually help you keep length over time, even if it doesn’t feel like it in the moment. One important thing to note: I get hair botox treatments, which is why you won’t find many repairing products in this list. Hair botox already contains a high concentration of keratin, and layering too many repair or protein-heavy products on top of that can overload the hair. Over time, this can make hair stiff, dry, and more prone to breakage instead of actually repairing it. 💇🏽‍♀️ This also applies if you don’t get hair botox. Constantly using repair products without giving your hair breaks can lead to protein overload, where too much keratin causes the opposite effect of what repair products are meant to do. This was a big learning curve for me. Repair products are powerful, but they’re meant to be used in phases, not continuously. Alternating repair phases with non-repair, moisturizing products gives the hair time to stay flexible, healthy, and grow stronger. The only repair product I use is K18, and very occasionally (about once every few weeks). K18 works differently than traditional repair products, as it repairs the hair from the inside rather than coating the surface, which makes it safer to use in moderation even with botox-treated hair.
