During the pandemic, we took up bird watching and created a habitat in our backyard to attract birds and squirrels. We have numerous feeders and a purple martin house in our backyard and spend most afternoons enjoying watching our birds and squirrels. Our frequent guests include a cardinal male and female couple, a woodpecker, lots of mockingbirds and bluejays, and squirrels. During the appropriate seasons, we also enjoy all the hummingbirds and the purple martins. Check out some of our recommendations below.

I'm a sucker for a good light-up decoration at Christmas time. I have slowly been collecting pieces from Department 56 and even collecting Walmart's holiday collection of houses and buildings. But this past year, I lucked out and became the new owner of a bigger collection of Department 56 Dicken's village pieces and was super excited. I didn't know they had all kinds of other-named collections.

Do you like to follow trendy decor ideas? Or do you still with traditional Christmas decor? Or do you do your own thing? Lately I have been into more of the farm house look with the buffalo plaids, and red, silver, and gold ornaments.

A clean and decluttered home is good for the mind, at least it is for me. While I had my fair share of chores growing up, I never really learned any good hacks. It's amazing to see what other people do to make their cleaning time shorter and more efficient.
