Concussion Recovery (Hot Pink Gals Have Good Mental Health)
If you've had a concussion, you may be impacted with later mental health, mood, and other issues. Here's recommendations. Being hot means good mental health! This isn't medical advice, however, personal recommendations from YEARS of concussions and recovery as well as consulting with concussion expert doctors. I worked at one of the best clinics in the area that actually helped concussion recovery and many of these aren't known or recommended. Many people end up having mood, panic disorders, or even effects such as dizziness and loss of balance (post-concussive) following a concussion because they don't get proper care and don't connect their symptoms back to a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) which is many concussions. Basically, after a concussion, your body releases excessive neurotransmitters into your system in an attempt to steady and save the brain from impact. This can lead to a rise and then a drop off of serotonin, dopamine, and other neurochemicals we need to be happy similar to a drug crash. We want to flush these from the liver to tell our brain to start making these again. Also: massage is your friend. After concussion, our neck and shoulder muscles tense to steady our head of perceived danger which can lead to long-term health issues. We want to have regular massage and look into the Epley maneuver or greater physical therapy if we experience dizziness. Other deeper recommendations include neurofeedback, hyperbaric oxygen chambers, and acupuncture.
