I've had curly hair my entire life & it's been a giant pain in the ass to find haircare that works and is cruelty-free. This is my list of my battle-tested favorites that I buy over & over again. I actually have a scar in my eye from getting poked in the eye by a comb as a kid because my hair was so hard to manage. Not everything marketed for curly hair is made equal- some of that shit made my hair a dry frizzy desert and made my hair feel like pine straw lol.

One of my favorite places to visit, especially in the summer, is Old Town Alexandria. The King Street Mile is a great place to peruse shops and cafes, the waterfront is a beautiful place to spend a day by the Potomac River, and there are even ties to my hometown of Wichita, Kansas at Archer Hotel Alexandria and Homegrown.
