As a busy mom of two, my style is all about being cute, comfy, and practical. I live in athleisure wear, easy jeans, baseball hats, and versatile shoes that make me feel put-together without the extra effort. These are the pieces I reach for daily when I need something that works for school drop-offs, errands, and everything in between.
Peterborough, Ontario, is a vibrant city located about 115 km northeast of Toronto. Known as "The Electric City," it was the first in Canada to use electric streetlights. The city is a hub for education, culture, and healthcare, home to Trent University and Fleming College. It serves as a gateway to the Kawartha Lakes region, offering a mix of history, education, and natural beauty.
Hotels are stayed in my recent trips to Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Amazon (Manaus), and Brazilian Northeast region (Natal, Salvador, Recife, Joao Pessoa, and Teresina).
My oldest daughter struggled in school and as she was my first and I was so young, I spoke to the doctor about it and naturally, the first thing the doctor said was she had ADHD and needed to be put on medication. They even handed her a coloring book that she could color and read, which only contained information on 'how to deal with ADHD'. It was so irritated because no tests were done, just an opinion and medication. I am no way saying ADHD isn't a thing, she was just so young and it was our first appointment, and I wasn't set on medicating her yet - I just wanted to understand her learning behavior. After months of researching, I found lots of articles about food, dyes, artifical ingredients and so forth, and started down that path of changing our food as much as possible. THIS WAS NOT EASY - she didn't always like it, she cried for other foods, snuck foods at school and did whatever she could. While it was tough, the little changes and support from us turned her behavior and learning around. A teacher helped us put her on a 504 plan for extended learning and her grades quickly improved. We still practice good eating because I truly believe it and no, we're not perfect with it and that's ok too. Hope this helps anyone with their learning path!
