In 2017 I did a road trip to south Dakota and Colorado. I live in southern Illinois so I traveled north to south Dakota and made a few stops along the way. After going through South Dakota, we drove down to Colorado, and then back home. This list will focus on what we did in South Dakota only. I skipped a couple of places that tend to show up on tourists lists because I didn't have time or it was out of the way. I skipped Deadwood and and the Crazy Horse memorial. I saw the Crazy Horse memorial from the road. I am sure there is plenty more to do in South Dakota, but this is what I did and enjoyed. I live in the small town of Hot Springs ARKANSAS. This is one of the top tourist destinations in the state. Three great lakes for boating, fishing, camping and just fun in the sun. A lesser visited country in the South Pacific, Tonga is known for its friendly people, stunning islands and of course, its humpback whales! As one of the only places in the world to swim with these huge animals, I would recommend it to absolutely anyone (it’s one of my favourite experiences ever). Our Amsterdam trip was October 3-5 2024. We flew from Keflavik to Amsterdam using Icelandair's stopover program. We arrived in the afternoon and took a train to Centraal Station from Schipol Airport. The train station is in the middle of the city and we were able to walk to our hotel. Amsterdam's public transportation is amazing so we used the tram to get around or walked. You can also rent a bike if you'd like! We bought the IAMsterdam card prior and booked a lot of experiences using this. This is another ambitious itinerary and we were exhausted but, again, so worth it!

Fairbanks is a small town but there are a lot of competitive business. I’m here to share the hidden gems of the Interior.
