After 25 years living in the Bellingham area, here is where I would take you if you came to visit. If you want sunshine and dry weather, aim for July and August. May and September are usually warm-ish and somewhat dry. June can be a mixed bag. The rest of the year is the quintessential gray, wet, cool weather we are known for.

Take it from someone who has traveled... a lot! I have been to 22 countries and over half of the USA. These pieces are my tried and true favs for making travel as stressful free as possible! When you are a mama you have to intentionally find ways to remove a little of the stress out of life so you can actually enjoy things WITH your family. For me, making sure we have all of our ducks in a row while traveling means I can be in the moment, enjoy the journey and worry a little less while we get from point A to point B.
A trip to New York City can feel overwhelming. There’s so many things to do, shows to see and places to go. here are some great ways to find the best things to do and maybe even save a little money along the way.
There’s so much to do in NYC! My favorite things to do in the city are: (1) to eat (see below for my foodie guide), (2) go to a broadway show (the TKTS stand has great discounted tickets – and I personally pick the shows I want to see based on the cast), and (3) walk around and explore the different neighborhoods!
Each neighborhood has its own charm – I particularly love Chelsea (you can walk the highline and get something to eat at Chelsea Market), Nolita/Soho/Little Italy (which are all in walking distance of each other), and there’s nothing like walking around central park (with a stop at the Plaza Hotel or Columbus circle). It’s touristy, but I love 30 Rock (get something from Magnolia bakery while you’re there), and if you’ve never done the tour it’s fun to see the SNL set and hear from a real NBC page! Obviously, Columbia has a beautiful campus but unless you’re venturing uptown there isn’t that much else to do there. Brooklyn is its own magical world (and each neighborhood there is different too - Brooklyn Heights is bougie and beautiful, Williamsburg is hipster AF, and generally the pizza is the best in Brooklyn).
But my favorite part about living in NYC was that chances are if you see a cool pop up or random event happening on instagram/social media, it’s happening in New York and you can be a part of it! Eater and Thrillist are two places that share these types of events.
Here, you will find the airlines I prefer as well as the hotel groups I have a loyalty program with. Here are my favorite ways to get to where I am going and where I most like to stay when I get there. My favorite payment method for each loyalty program is also included.
I love travel, but let's be real. Airports and long flights can be brutal. After plenty of trial and error (and a few overpacked bags), these are the products I don’t regret bringing along. If you’re gearing up for travel, consider this your cheat sheet to flying smarter and way more comfortably.
Edinburgh feels like stepping into a fairytale, I love it! With cobbled streets, cozy cafés, and castle views around every corner. Through my month of Backpacking Thailand, only a section of my 8+ country trip, I had the privilege of seeing some of the most awe inspiring temples, majestic jungle creatures, and idyllic beaches. Enjoy, and let me know if theres anything you think I should add :)
We’ve been lucky to have traveled to Santorini and Mykonos, and while I thought they were awesome, it felt like they were swarming with Americans trying to get the perfect selfie and overpriced restaurants and hotels. We did a lot of research and decided to travel to Sifnos, and it did not disappoint – everything I hoped for in a Greek island. Incredible views, wonderful people, delicious restaurants, gorgeous beaches. It was a bit of a journey to get here (fly to Santorini and 2.5 hour ferry, or fly to Milos and 45 min ferry) but we definitely hope to be back! Here are some of our faves.
