As an Arkansas Native for the last 26 years, I've traveled far and wide across our beautiful natural state. In this list I'll share with you the must see stops for any nature enthusiasts!

A few years ago my family and I embarked on a journey to visit all 63 National Parks and as many National Monuments as possible. We LOVE the National Park Service (NPS) and their sites because they are very well maintained, clean, accessible to people with a range of abilities, they are family friendly and they have bathrooms! Here is a very condensed list of some of our favorite National Parks and Monuments (so far) as well as our favorite hikes, sites, excursions, and more! MY #1 TIP when visiting any National Park is to make a stop at the Visitors Center to talk to a Ranger about things to do in the area and gather information about trail closures, etc.

St. Louis is an amazing spot to vacation. There is so much to do, and it's easy to get around. My two best friends and I took a trip from KC to STL with our kids. Hocking Hills is a cheaper but extensive set of Midwest hiking trails. The trails are absolutely gorgeous with endless scenery. This was one of my favorite trips to do. If you are not a country or outside person this is not the trip for you. Fortunately/Unfortunately, there isn't much to do in the area beside outside activities. Most places and trails are dog friendly, IF YOUR DOG IS TRAINED!!!

I visited Tromso, Norway and these are all the things I bought and packed for my trip that kept be warm on a daily basis and kept my face from cracking from the cold!

My favorite place to day-trip from the suburbs. About a 2 hour drive from where I am, about 20 minutes outside of Madison. Canadian's refer to this spot as Cottage Country. It's a mixture of estate lake homes, pass down generational cottages, resorts, hotels, and camp sites. This region is peppered with some of the most beautiful lakes and wildlife. It's a must visit if you're in the area! And the best part? It's four seasons! It has something for everyone no matter the time of year. But personally I prefer the summer time visits!
