I love travelling, and being able to be as spontaneous as possible. For me, t part of that means travelling as light as possible. I always consider how practical and item is before I take it with me. Here are the things I cannot travel without!

This was a great vacation. We stayed at an Airbnb ~3 miles west of Hanalei, which is the last main town in Kauai as you head west towards the Nā pali coast. Unfortunately, the Airbnb is no longer listed, and next time we will look for a place even closer to a swimmable beach so we can walk and not deal with putting kids in the car. 90% of the time we stayed in a 10 mile radius because it was perfect for us. Our recommendations are just north side and basically just Hanalei surroundings. If we came back, we’d definitely adventure out a little more to see more -- waimea canyon, south side, etc. -- but Hanalei area is the dopest on the north side so we were happy as clams. This is a list of things we did.

I have made a lot of emergency runs to unexpectedly support loved ones at the hospital. I often drive over 5 hours to the hospital and leave without much notice. Sometimes the stays are a couple of days, but sometimes they are much longer. Either way, I have these items ready to go at all times. While this is not comprehensive, long-term packing, and more is needed for a longer stay, this is enough to get to the hospital and survive for a couple of days without laundry or additional supplies/clothing.

I usually travel with just a backpack. Hiking two weeks in Portugal, a weekend away in Budapest or a short trip to the Swiss Alps? You can do this all if you pack your backpack smart and efficient. And the best thing is: you have more freedom, spend less money and you don't have to compromise on anything you truly need.
