I was able to have the opportunity to live in Hawai'i and Arizona with my home state being California. I've lived in Southern, Central and Northern California, so here are some of my hometown favorites along with some places I've been and love along my journey.

Though I personally just call it home, the Caribbean island of Jamaica is one of the most popular tropical vacation spots on this side of the Atlantic. There is a valid reason why. Apart from being the land that bore the world the likes of Bob Marley and Usain Bolt, it is popularly featured on many a bucket list because of its powdery sand beaches and its vibrant culture that non-natives can easily immerse themselves in and resurface for the journey home with awesome memories for a lifetime. Montego Bay, Ocho Rios and Negril are the most popular locations for vacationing. These two micro cities and a tranquil town are located along the island’s western seaboard and can be experienced in a quick weekend getaway or a week-long vacation. If your starting point is Montego Bay (my home-base and ‘MoBay’ to locals), facing the sea, you can go right to Ocho Rios in 2 hours and go left to Negril in the same amount of time. There is a wide variety of things to do and see for every variation of interest in either direction. We spent 3 nights on Hamilton Island in June. We caught a Greyhound bus from Townsville to Airlie Beach (4 hours) then transferred onto the island by ferry (45 minutes). Once we arrived on the island we hopped on a transfer bus to our apartment (5 mins). Once we settled picked up our pre-booked golf buggy the next day so we could discover a bit more of the island.

Does airplane travel, especially longer flights get you in knots? It sure used to stress me out a lot, I mean I still get a little anxious but knowing I have many items to help me deal with situations that arise or just to give that extra sense of comfort has helped me relax a lot more. I find keeping my travel items well organized and having easy access to the things I need during the flight makes it much less stressful for me. Even weeks before the flight I'm planning my list of clothing, toiletries and accessories to ensure I'm well prepared and I have outfits that can be mixed and matched and work for the adventures and places that my husband and I are visiting. We love to bike on our trips so I always have to be sure I have plenty of options for cycling gear. Check out some of the items for staying organized and comfy, don't leave home without them.
