Uluwatu is where I ALWAYS start my Bali holiday. It's about a 45 minute drive from the airport and has nice white beaches (only can swim at low tide.) This is where I deal with my jetlag and just chill until I'm ready to move. Unless you surf this is a 2-3 day max area to stay in, but a great place to begin. Don't head towards Kuta, Seminyak, Canguu first --you WILL be dissappointed. Lots of traffic and dirty beaches….its just where everyone is becuase theres lots of stuff to do with shopping, eating, and partying.

Now that travel is a thing again, I'm trying to take regular trips to see my family and recharge my batteries in familiar territory. Because I keep a capsule wardrobe at my family home, I can take a cabin bag and get the hassle of airport time down to a minimum.

Indianapolis has things to do year round. The month of May is, of course, dominated by the festivities surrounding the Indianapolis 500. The Indiana State Fair is fun to visit in early August. There's aways something happening at the Children's Museum and the Zoo for the kids. Symphony on the Prairie is a summertime treat.
