We spent 4 full days / 5 nights in Malta in December 2023 and had a fantastic time, and wanted to share some of the things we loved. For context, we've traveled around Europe quite a bit (my husband is Swiss) and we were looking for an easy destination to get to from Switzerland with nice winter weather and fun/interesting things to do. Malta exceeded all of our expectations. I definitely recommend, and would think of it as an exciting long weekend destination to visit (on par with visiting a single European city) but wouldn't choose it over a multi-spot trip to a MUCH larger country like Italy. Things we especially liked: lots of history, clean and easy to get around, lovely people, great weather, excellent accommodation, kid-friendly, very good dining.
